This 2004 recording was most recently included in the comprehensive box of Corellis works reissued by Brilliant Classics in 2011, when it received a warm welcome from Musicweb International as a reference set: the playing throughout is accomplished and achieved with a certain nonchalance that suggests the players are very familiar with the music.

Wildstrings Comments: A couple of years ago, while I've visited 'Shringeri' temple in Karnataka State of India, I accidentally found this artist as she was performing there just when I entered into the temple. The moment, I had listened her voice, It got my attention and I postponed visiting the temple until sometime as I truly enjoyed her blissful voice. Although she is under 20 years, she got very matured voice and I assume she will have bright future. Hopefully, You enjoy this music and encourage this upcoming artist.

This is an exceptional disc. Exceptional both for the music Johannes Brahms’ three violin sonatas contain some of his most lovely writing and the performance French violinist Augustin Dumay and Portuguese pianist Maria Pires project a strong interpretive vision. The interpretation is more lyrical and thoughtful than typical, with somewhat slow tempi generally. This is married to exquisite – and I mean, exquisite – technique from both Pires and Dumay as well as an outstanding sound engineering job from DG. The excellence of this CD is comprehensive.

Accompanied by a top-flight rhythm section, four exceptional German gypsy violinists trade solos on five standards and three originals. The album swings infectiously as the violinists present lively renditions of Satin Doll and Autumn Leaves, as well as a surprisingly up-tempo Bye Bye Blackbird. The four are following in the tradition of legendary gypsy guitarist Django Rheinhardt and his musical soulmate French violinist Stephane Grappelli, but there is a taste of something more modern. Leader of the pack Zipflo Rheinhardt is descended from Django, but admits to being influenced by Jean-Luc Ponty.

Genre: classical, neo-classical

Mari Kimura (木村 まり Kimura Mari) is a Japanese violinist and composer best known for her use of subharmonics, which, achieved through special bowing techniques, allow pitches below the instrument's normal range. She is credited with "introducing" the use of violin subharmonics, which allow a violinist to play a full octave below the low G on the violin without adjusting the tuning of the instrument. Polytopia is her first CD for the Bridge label, and her first created without collaborators.
Eurasia’s Maritime Rise and Global Security: From the Indian Ocean to Pacific Asia and the Arctic

Eurasia’s Maritime Rise and Global Security: From the Indian Ocean to Pacific Asia and the Arctic By Geoffrey F. Gresh
English | PDF,EPUB | 2018 | 303 Pages | ISBN : 3319718053 | 14.63 MB

This book explores Eurasia’s growing embrace of its maritime geography from the Indian Ocean to Pacific Asia and the Arctic. In an age of climate change, the melting of the Arctic will transform Eurasia’s importance, in addition to influencing the political, economic, and military dynamics across Eurasia’s main maritime regions. These emerging shifts have already begun to alter maritime trade and investment patterns, and thus the global political economy. It also creates a rising threat to the current status quo of world order that has long been dominated by the Atlantic World. This edited volume showcases some of the world’s leading experts and examines Eurasia from a saltwater perspective, analyzing its main maritime spaces in a threefold manner—as avenue, as arena, as source—to show the significance of this geostrategic change and why it matters for the future of the world’s oceans.
