On May 30th 2015, the first ever Metal Meltdown concert series event kicked off at The Joint at the world famous Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. The legendary, multi-platinum selling hard rock band Twisted Sister performed an explosive 90 minute set of the band's biggest hits spanning their 40 year career. The concert was dedicated to the honor of Twisted Sister's iconic drummer, AJ Pero, whose tragic, sudden death shocked the music world only days after Twisted Sister announced that this would become the band's final tour ever. The band recruited renowned metal drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, The Winery Dogs, Avenged Sevenfold, Adrenaline Mob) to take the reins and his very first Twisted Sister appearance was captured by the Metal Meltdown camera crew. The first of the Metal Meltdown Concert series, Twisted Sister was a 24 multi-camera shoot, filmed in stunning HD, with a state-of-the-art LED stage set featuring custom animation. This monumental concert film attests to singer Dee Snider’s remark that Twisted Sister is “the best live band ever.”

When Twisted Sister issued their 1985 album, Come Out and Play, the members were convinced they'd created their best work yet. But ultimately, the record was met with a very cool response by their fans – a major disappointment after the double platinum success of their preceding album, 1984's Stay Hungry. For their next album, Love Is for Suckers (issued in 1987), the band attempted returning to more straight-ahead, hard rock-based songwriting. Long-time drummer A.J. Pero left the band prior to the album (replaced by session drummer Joey Franco), and the raw approach of their early work was noticeably absent – producer Beau Hill (Ratt, Winger) gave the album a very '80s pop-metal sound.

Under the Blade is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Twisted Sister, released on Secret Records on September 18, 1982. It featured a very brutal and rough sound which was eventually totally ignored on a remixed re-release by Atlantic Records on July 14, 1985. The re-release also added a remixed version of the song "I'll Never Grow Up, Now", the band's long forgotten 1979 single. Under the Blade has sold over two million copies worldwide. In 2005, Under the Blade was ranked number 387 in Rock Hard magazine's book of The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.

Twisted Sister were left in a strange position after the massive breakthrough success of their 1984 album, Stay Hungry. While the album contained more of a pop edge than their more raw preceding albums (Under the Blade and You Can't Stop Rock n' Roll), the heavy metal masses worldwide still embraced the album, as did the the lucrative MTV/pop audience. So for its follow-up, the band was faced with a question: whether to continue in a more pop-oriented direction or return to its early heavy metal. As the resulting album, 1985's Come Out and Play, proved, the band pursued a little bit of both.(…) And although the album was certified gold shortly after its release, it soon slid from sight – eventually leading to Twisted Sister's demise a few years later.

You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll is Twisted Sister's second full-length album. This album followed the same raw heavy metal direction of their debut, and was even more consistent from a songwriting and performance standpoint. Several of Twisted Sister's best anthems reside here – the title track (which was one of the band's first videos to be aired on MTV), as well as 'The Kids Are Back', 'We're Gonna Make It', and 'I Am (I'm Me)'.

Twisted Sister has always been able to find the heart and humor in the truly crass, so it probably should not surprise anyone that this holiday outing, TWISTED CHRISTMAS, while possibly a cash-in attempt - remains heartfelt, funny, and at times sincere throughout it's 12 tracks. Dee Snider's idiot charm actually meshes surprisingly well with the childlike wonderment of Christmas. Highlights include "I'll Be Home For Christmas", featuring Lita Ford on vocals, and "Heavy Metal Christmas (The Twelve Days of Christmas)" with "a tattoo of Ozzy" replacing the coveted "partridge in a pear tree".
