Collection includes all studio albums and two compilations by English musical group Talk Talk. The group had a string of international hit singles including "Today", "Talk Talk", "It's My Life", "Such a Shame", "Dum Dum Girl", "Life's What You Make It" and "Living in Another World". In their later years the band's commercial appeal receded, but their critical reputation increased as they moved from synthpop to a more experimental form. Their final two albums, Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock, were highly acclaimed and remain influential to experimental alternative rock genres, especially post-rock.

I would tape the entire show (Saturday Night Live, Tonight Show, etc.) and then transfer the music performances to the other VCR for archiving. Some performances may be 1st gen and not tape to tape.

For over two decades, the Hi-Hat Club occupied a choice location among the jazz clubs of Boston’s South End district, at the corner of Columbus and Massachusetts Avenue. After the end of World War II, lesser luminaries took over the band-stand, and after a while entertainment practically stopped altogether. Dave Coleman, a jazz promoter, had taken over management of the club in 1949. Through Coleman’s personal initiative, the Hi-Hat enjoyed its most successful years, and by 1951 it was the only club featuring a consistent policy of presenting modern jazz.

I wanted to have the 122 minutes concert in it's entirety and the CD that comes with this edition is a waste of time, only 8 tracks. So I simply ripped the entire concert including the 2 bonus tracks using the lossless track LPCM 48kHz / 16bit / 2Ch. Why have a CD with 8 songs when you can make your own CD with 21 songs. As you probably noticed, I didn't downsample to RedBook format (44kHz), so, if you want to burn the DVD-Video tracks to CD-R, you'll have to downsample yourself using programs like Sound Forge, Audition, Audacity.

John McLaughlin & Paco de Lucia: Paco and John - Live at Montreux 1987 it's truly a shame that, all too often, artists with diverse careers become pigeon-holed, defined by the primary genre in which they first achieved notoriety. Take guitarist John McLaughlin, for instance. Ask most jazz fans about him and what will first come out of most of their mouths will include either the words "fusion," "jazz-rock" and/or Miles Davis, in any permutation/combination (not that there's anything wrong with that). Those a little further in the know might also be aware of his longstanding investigation into the nexus of eastern and western music with his Indo-collaboration, Shakti.

Average White Band - Live At Montreux 1977 (2005)

Genre: R&B | Label: Eagle Rock | Copy: Untouched | Release Date: 9 Jun 2005 | Runtime: 97 min. | 5,77 GB (DVD9)

With a unique sound drawing from early funk and Motown sounds, Average White Band might be one of the most inaccurately named bands in history (especially considering both their percussionists are black). Hailing from Scotland, Average White Band's fast songs sound like the Funky Meters and their slow songs sound like old Motown. While they wear their inspirations on their sleeves, they still managed to develope a very unique sound, laying down some really great funk grooves. This performance at the Montreux Jazz festival in 1977 comes shortly after their best known albums, and contains quite a few of their biggest hits. Admittedly, Average White Band isn't the most poetic of songwriting teams, even in the soul and funk genres.
