Pink Floyd will release the mono version of their 1967 debut The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn on vinyl LP for this year’s Record Store Day. This is a new mono remaster by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. The vinyl masters were cut in 2018 from the original analogue mono master tape. The record is pressed on heavyweight vinyl and comes with a black poly-lined inner bag. To differentiate this mono from the stereo, Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis (with Peter Curzon) created some additional packaging in the form of a card envelope which features a psychedelic design, including a gold embossed version of the graphic by Syd Barrett which also features on the reverse of the original mono LP.

They rose to prominence during the glam rock era in the early 1970s, achieving 17 consecutive top 20 hits and six number ones on the UK Singles Chart. The British Hit Singles & Albums names them as the most successful British group of the 1970s based on sales of singles. They were the first act to have three singles enter the charts at number one; all six of the band's chart-toppers were penned by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea. As of 2006, total UK sales stand at 6,520,171, and their best-selling single, "Merry Xmas Everybody", has sold in excess of one million copies. Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection
I just noticed that this band had been added to PA and that no one had reviewed this album so far which does not really surprise me.
I bought this album when I was not even a teenager (I was aged twelve). How comes that a young boy would buy “Well Cut” ? Well there are some reasons for that.

Folk Rock / Psychedelic Rock / Pop Rock

Upon his emergence during the mid-'60s, Donovan was anointed "Britain's answer to Bob Dylan," a facile but largely unfounded comparison which compromised the Scottish folk-pop troubadour's own unique vision.
