In 1984, a 45-year-old Tina Turner made one of the most amazing comebacks in the history of American popular music. A few years earlier, it was hard to imagine the veteran soul/rock belter reinventing herself and returning to the top of the pop charts, but she did exactly that with the outstanding Private Dancer. And Turner did so without sacrificing her musical integrity. To be sure, this pop/rock/R&B pearl is decidedly slicker than such raw, earthy, hard-edged Ike & Tina classics as "Proud Mary," "Sexy Ida," and "I Wanna Take You Higher." But she still has a tough, throaty, passionate delivery that serves her beautifully on everything from the melancholy…

Wildest Dreams is the ninth solo album by Tina Turner, released on Parlophone/Virgin in 1996. It went double platinum in the United Kingdom and in Europe. The song "GoldenEye", recorded and released in 1995, was the theme of the James Bond film of the same name. It was written by Bono and The Edge of the Irish band U2. Tina Turner also released a duet with Barry White called "In Your Wildest Dreams" which reached #32 in the UK, the duet version was included on the U.S. version of the album which had a different track list, released some six months after it was first issued in Europe and most other parts of the world, and then also with an alternate cover.

Very rivals Behaviour as Pet Shop Boys' best album, so it's appropriate that the "further listening" bonus disc on Very's installment in the 2001 expanded-edition series rivals the further listening disc for Behaviour, and perhaps even surpasses it. Like that disc, this collection doesn't rely on remixes for bonus tracks and those that do make it are quite good (a previously unreleased 12" mix of "Go West" and the hacienda version of "Violence"). The rest of the record consists of B-sides and non-LP singles (including "Absolutely Fabulous"), none of which have been collected on a disc before since they all date from an era that the double-disc set Alternative didn't cover…

The Story So Far: The Very Best of Rod Stewart is a 2001 Rod Stewart career-retrospective compilation album, which summarizes his solo work beginning with material from his 1971 breakthrough album Every Picture Tells a Story until his 2001 album Human. For contractual reasons, only two songs from his Mercury Records tenure ("Maggie May" and "You Wear It Well") were included (a third song from the Mercury era, "Reason to Believe", was included in a live acoustic version from the Warner Bros. album Unplugged…and Seated). The rest of the material is from different albums released under Warner Bros. Records…
