Features 24 bit digital remastering. Comes with a description. Late in 1967, bassist Cecil McBee left Charles Lloyd's band and was replaced by Ron McClure. The jazz critics and public alike all held their breaths, since Lloyd's band had taken the entire world by storm on the festival circuit; playing Town Hall would surely be an acid test not only of McClure's ability to fill such a big space, but the band's as well – to see if the fire would continue to burn as it had previously. They needn't have worried. The gig, which is presented here as Soundtrack, stomps with all the fury of a live gospel choir trying to claim Saturday night for God instead of the other guy.

28th century, 200 years after the Great Earth Exodus. Naia, a feisty, young singer/songwriter, falls in love with the beautiful saxophonist Parker in Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons. The two form a band - and now they have to not only make it as musicians but also to fight for their freedom. Dramatically rendered in rich, hand drawn animation, Strange Frame brings us into a world of space pirates, indentured slaves and genetic mutations - infused with music throughout, to create a dreamlike tale unlike anything you've ever seen.

Features 24 bit digital remastering. Comes with a description. Issued in 1966, Love-In was the follow-up to the amazing Dream Weaver, the debut of the Charles Lloyd Quartet. Love-In was recorded after the 1966 summer blowout and showed a temporary personnel change: Cecil McBee had left the group and was replaced by Ron McClure. McClure didn't possess the aggressiveness of McBee, but he more than compensated with his knowledge of the modal techniques used by Coltrane and Coleman in their bands, and possessed an even more intricate lyricism to make up for his more demure physicality. Of the seven selections here, four are by Lloyd, two by pianist Keith Jarrett, and one by Lennon/McCartney ("Here, There and Everywhere").

The first in a series of New York-based PAK bands was formed in 2000 by guitarists Ron Anderson and Will Redmond, bassist Jesse Krakow, and drummer Race Age. PAK's first three albums, each of which involved multiple changes in personnel, generated comparisons with Frank Zappa, Gentle Giant, King Crimson, and Captain Beefheart. Secret Curve was released in early 2011 on John Zorn's Tzadik label. Anderson is featured here as composer and bass guitarist leading seven edgy improvisers including double-fisted pianist Anthony Coleman, prepared pianist Eve Risser, trumpeter Tim Byrnes, and multi-reed instrumentalist Stefan Zeniuk.

Innerspace is a progressive rock band from Canada formed in 2010. They introduced their debut album The Village to the prog rock world in the summer of 2012. Maybe the music on this CD isn't that original because throughout you can hear music that's particularly inspired by Pink Floyd. However, Innerspace's interpretation of Pink Floyd's music is totally different if compared to other bands that regard Pink Floyd to be their major influence. The music on The Village is mostly tranquil and laid back. They have a dreamy approach to melodic rock which fits this band perfectly. Sometimes the music tends towards a band like Airbag, although the melodic Floydian guitar parts are the main ingredients of this Norwegian band.

The Book of Genesis tells us that in the beginning was the Word and that the Word was sound. But what if it was music? What if God, in contemplating the creation of Creation, sang being into being? If so, it might have sounded something like the Sacred Songs of Valentin Silvestrov. In this seventh ECM album devoted to the Ukrainian composer’s music, we thusly encounter a sense of space unique to the Russian liturgy: the more the voices unify in movement, the more they lift from one another like temporary tattoos, leaving behind mirror images that wash away with baptism into infinite oneness with the Holy Spirit. Sin as sun. Firmament as fundament.

Captured at a Whiskey a Go Go, this live recording featured Redding’s improvisational power and prowess, accompanied by his own touring band. Creating rich sonic landscapes, the album defined why Redding was considered one of music’s greatest live performers. Included on the set were roaring renditions of Brown’s “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag” and the Rolling Stones’ classic, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” This intense and melodic outing bursts with riveting guitar, bass, drums and trumpets, charting on Billboard’s Top 200.
