A rollicking around-the-world adventure, Pink Martini’s ninth studio album Je dis oui! features a cavalcade of songs – many of them original – in French, Farsi, Armenian, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Xhosa and English, and affirms the band’s 22-year history of global inclusivity and collaborative spirit. Je dis oui! – which means “I say yes” in French – is the optimistic mantra of the chorus of “Joli garçon” (“Pretty boy”), one of three songs co-written by the band for the upcoming film Souvenir, starring the legendary French actress Isabelle Huppert.

Saori Yuki is a popular Japanese singer with a 40 year brilliant career. Yuki discovered Pink Martini after the band covered her song “Taya Tan” for their 2007 album "Hey Eugene". This excellent CD is a tribute to Yuki's songs from 1969 when she debuted till today. A beautiful mix of Jap pop and well know tunes, with a Pink Martini's latin flavor. Pink Martini and Saori Yuki. Crossing borders, crossing generations. A miracle of a collaboration album is born. Nice booklet included. Enjoy.

Sofia, Melanie, Amanda, and August von Trapp are the actual great grandchildren of Baron & Maria von Trapp, made famous by the 1965 film The Sound of Music. These siblings (ages 18 25) have been singing together for 12 years, and have toured all over the world in concert. Drawn into the magical orbit of Thomas Lauderdale, they now live together in a house in Portland, Oregon and have been frequent guest performers with Pink Martini for the past two years. This delightful new collaboration features Pink Martini s beloved little orchestra fronted by the beautiful crystalline four-part harmonies of the singing siblings, traveling through a wonderland of Lauderdale s brilliant arrangements.

While there, they recorded Charlie Chaplin's 'Smile', which turned out to be Phyllis Diller's final recording, and became the soundtrack for the many tributes to her when she passed away six months later.
