D.S. Al Coda is the third album by the progressive rock and jazz fusion group National Health. It is a tribute to former member Alan Gowen, who died of leukaemia in May 1981, and consists solely of compositions written by him. Most of these had not been recorded in the studio before, although "TNTFX" and "Arriving Twice" both appeared earlier on albums by Gowen's other band Gilgamesh.

Every industrial nation in the world guarantees their citizens access to essential health care services–every country, that is, except the United States. Indeed, one in eight Americans–a shocking 43 million people–a majority of them in working families, do not have any health care insurance.

Skip around to any ten-second window on this album and you may think you are hearing a well-rehearsed college band. But, step back and witness the sudden shifts in tempo and musical voice and you know you are witnessing a uniquely successful eclecticism. Most of the material from this superlative British prog rock band was previously unavailable in any form. National Health was the farm team for some of Great Britain's most expansive and important artists.
