Peter Kuhlmann, aka Pete Namlook, founder of the FAX +49-69/450464 label, passed away unexpectedly in 2012, leaving behind an incredible catalog of hundreds of releases, composed by himself and/or collaborators from around the world, full of electronic music like no one had ever heard before. Namlook's passing is a great loss to the entire electronic music community and this is a tribute compilation worthy of recognizing the tremendous impact he had on the world of electronic music. The result is Die Welt ist Klang, consisting of 4 CDs of tracks from FAX +49-69/450464 artists, plus 4 CDs of tracks from fans, all housed in a handsome wooden box. Many of these tracks were written especially for this compilation, some are lost tracks which have never seen the light of day, while some have been previously released…

Two years after the first Dreamfish album Pete Namlook and Mixmaster Morris return for a second aquatic ambient adventure. Aquarium is introduced by faint gong-like sounds, suggesting the fading light and sounds of life above sea level. If the first Dreamfish album was largely a snorkel in the shallows this introduction correctly indicates that Dreamfish 2 will be a much deeper dive. The sounds are sparser than last time around, the music a little darker and electronics softly judder and percolate, like fine collections of bubbles on a long journey to the surface…

This first collaboration of Pete Namlook and Gabriel Le Mar is a perfect combination of two worlds in Chill-Out and Ambient. While both artists have composed and released electronic music for over a decade, each followed a different path. While Namlook was often more on the beatless path of deep instrumental music, Le Mar had a strong connection to dub music and percussive content. Both developed their personal style and now combined their ideas to a perfect match in music. Percussive, melodic, organic monochrome, even a minimalistic electro-techno track is part of this album. The variety of unique organic music with its intense quality, makes you listen to it over and over again.

In 1994, Klaus Schulze was able to look back on a long, successful and highly influential career, but he was also able to embrace the new. He was in the midst of his 'digital phase', fascinated by sampling technology, and had a clear idea of where he could go with the technology, which resulted in albums like 'Beyond Recall'; the Royal Festival Hall recordings; 'The Dome Event' and even to an extent his opera 'Totentag'. By contrast Peter Kuhlman a.k.a Pete Namlook had just started.
