Vintage: The Very Best of Moby Grape is an acclaimed retrospective collection of Moby Grape songs, many previously unreleased, originally issued in 1993, as part of Columbia Records' "Legacy" series. Like so much of Moby's earliest work, this isn't so much an album as a compilation via his original label, Instinct. Ambient influences in techno were all the rage in 1993 in terms of press and coverage (though jungle would swiftly eclipse both it and the progressive house genre), so it's no surprise Instinct wanted some of that action, right down to the says-it-all title. Motivations aside, Ambient is an enjoyable collection of experiments; if Aphex Twin's monumental Selected Ambient Works releases eclipse it in terms of both quality and sheer inventiveness, Moby's own efforts in the field are often quite pleasing. Those familiar with such later efforts as "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" and "The Rain Falls and rhe Sky Shudders" can find their partial roots here, though the compositions are generally more formal and less-immediately noteworthy than what came next.

Less than a year after the project's debut, Moby & the Void Pacific Choir return with a follow-up, More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse. The aptly titled sequel to 2016's These Systems Are Failing is another abrasive collection of hardcore and post-punk ravers that should please fans of Moby's one-off solo punk experiment, 1996's Animal Rights. The spirits of major Moby influences like Agnostic Front and Mission of Burma can be heard throughout Apocalypse, from the manic pounding of "Trust" and the unrelenting anxiety of "If Only a Correction of All We've Been" to the rhythmic drone of "A Softer War" and the digital mayhem of "All the Hurts We Made."

These Systems Are Failing. All of them. We built great cities. Great industries. Great systems. These systems were supposed to protect us, to free us, but instead they've poisoned our air, killed the animals, butchered the land - and destroyed ourselves. We think we’ve conquered the problems of food production and wealth distribution, yet we’re more miserable than ever. These Systems Are Failing is the name of my new album. It is my first as Moby & The Pacific Void Choir.

In this extremely loose adaptation of Melville's classic novel, Ahab is revealed initially not as a bitter and vengeful madman, but as a bit of a lovable scamp. Ashore in New Bedford, he meets and falls for Faith Mapple, daughter of the local minister and beloved of Ahab's brother Derek. Faith herself quickly returns Ahab's love, as Derek is drab and ignoble. On his next voyage, however, Ahab loses a leg to the monstrous white whale Moby-Dick. When upon his return to New Bedford he mistakenly believes Faith wants nothing to do with him because of his disfigurement, Ahab returns to sea with only one goal in mind – to find and kill the great white whale.

Play is the 5th studio album by American electronica musician Moby. It was recorded at his Little Italy apartment in New York City. While some of Moby's earlier work garnered critical and commercial success within the electronic dance music scene, Play was both a critical success and a commercial phenomenon. The album introduced Moby to a worldwide mainstream audience, not only through a large number of hit singles (that helped the album to dominate worldwide charts for two years), but also through unprecedented licensing of his music in films, television, and commercial advertisements. In 2003, the album was ranked number 341 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. It was nominated for both a Grammy Award and Brit Award, was the UK's biggest selling independent album of 2000, and certified platinum status in more than 20 countries.
