The English rock band The Who perform on their first live album Live at Leeds. The album features, what is considered to be, the group's best line-up with Pete Townshend on guitar, Roger Daltrey on lead vocals, John Entwistle on bass guitar and Keith Moon on the drums. Live at Leeds, often referred to as one of the best live rock albums of all time, was recorded at the University of Leeds in Yorkshire. The 33 song set list includes "My Generation", "Summertime Blues" and "Magic Bus", along with many other classic titles by the group.

Rushed out in 1970 as a way to bide time as the Who toiled away on their follow-up to Tommy, Live at Leeds wasn't intended to be the definitive Who live album, and many collectors maintain that the band had better shows available on bootlegs. But those shows weren't easily available whereas Live at Leeds was, and even if this show may not have been the absolute best, it's so damn close to it that it would be impossible for anybody but aficionados to argue…

Live at Leeds was originally issued as a private pressing of 10,000 and sold by mail order only. The cover is, of course, a parody on the Who album of the same name. It quickly sold out and has become a much sought after item amongst Martyn's loyal fan base. The band line-up is ohn Stevens on drums, Danny Thompson bass and on the four additional tracks former Free guitarist Paul Kossoff. This powerful ensemble performance captures Martyn at a musical peak. His next release on Island, 1977's 'One World' with it's powerful and endearing songs was to see him hit a commercial peak. One World. 2003.

Eagle Records’ 2010 release of The Who Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 is essentially a repackaged reissue of Legacy’s 1996 archival release, containing the same 30 songs over two discs. This, of course, makes sense: both CD editions contain the entirety of the concert, which was heavily bootlegged before the official 1996 release. Eagle Records doesn’t change anything but the cover art, but it doesn’t need to: this is one of the Who’s legendary live shows, not as good as Live at Leeds but running a close second, and is certainly worthwhile for any serious fan.

Fourth album by New York's TOP blues cats whose previous album (Big Apple Blues: “Brooklyn Blues”, StoneToneRecords, Inc) was voted # 10 out of 100 best recent blues releases by Real Blues Magazine. “Live at O’Flaherty’s” captures raucous, sweltering, energy-oozing live performance of Big Apple Blues in a NYC club. To top it off, the CD was recorded unlike any other album in the last 3 decades - using old school, brutally revealing ½” vintage 70’s stereo Ampex tape recorder with virtually no postproduction. The result is - Blues like it is meant to be – true to the bone and free of studio tricks! Turn up loud and enjoy!
