Graffiti Classic is a graffiti font that blends the improvisational urban quality of graffiti with the smoothness and regularity of a typeface.
Growing up in Brooklyn, graffiti appeared to me as an explosion of expression and color in a sea of concrete. Inspired, I became a graffiti artist and practiced in both notebooks and subway tunnels. While I moved on to somewhat more traditional art forms in future years, with Graffiti Classic I pay homage to my artistic roots in a calligraphy marker/tag font.

Graffiti's sole album was in some ways typical of numerous obscure psychedelic one-shots on fairly big labels in the late '60s: over-ambitious lyrics, a kaleidoscope of styles that butted heads as often as it blended, emulation of several passing psychedelic trends pioneered by bigger groups, and an absence of really good songs. All that said, as such albums go, it's better than average, though hardly noteworthy. That's kind of faint praise, but at least Graffiti were less ponderous than many such bands, with a sort of gossamer lightness to much of their material. As for what styles they mined, they're hard to pin down, though they're fairly influenced by West Coast psychedelia of the era, with some of the vocal harmonies…

Throughout American Graffiti’s runtime, one may be inclined to say that Strawberry Girls have matured. In comparison to French Ghetto, the songs are tighter, the production crisper, and their trademark groove, if anything, is stronger than ever. However, that would imply that the band that made French Ghetto was somehow less mature than the band now, which is simply untrue. From their inception, Strawberry Girls have displayed an amazing level of finesse with their songwriting that normally takes years to develop, striking a perfect balance between their trademark aggressive groove-laden sound and a progressive edge that keeps each song fresh. So what then could you call the sound found American Graffiti if not a maturation" How about an expansion"…
