The subtitle inclines one to believe that Superman and the Justice League are up against an indestructible and ceaseless force in this full-cast production. In an ironic twist, that foe turns out to be the weather. With each of the heroes' cities besieged by tornadoes, blizzards, gigantic hail and lighting storms, Superman must rally and lead the Justice League to victory by determining who or what is manipulating the weather. Narrator Richard Rohan (who also directed the production) drives the story with a commanding voice that uses speed and emphasis to create momentum and intensity within the story. With an energetic soundtrack of sound effects, listeners will certainly feel the excitement generated by this compelling production.

Education and the Cold War: The Battle for the American School

Education and the Cold War: The Battle for the American School by Andrew Hartman
English | Mar 4, 2008 | ISBN: 0230600107 | 264 Pages | PDF | 1 MB

Shortly after the Russians launched Sputnik in 1957, Hannah Arendt quipped that “only in America could a crisis in education actually become a factor in politics.” The Cold War battle for the American school – dramatized but not initiated by Sputnik – proved Arendt correct. The schools served as a battleground in the ideological conflicts of the 1950s. Beginning with the genealogy of progressive education, and ending with the formation of New Left and New Right thought, Education and the Cold War offers a fresh perspective on the postwar transformation in U.S. political culture by way of an examination of the educational history of that era.

Battle Chasers (1998) Complete

is an American fantasy comic book series by Joe Madureira, launched in April 1998. It was one of the most popular American comics series in the late 1990s. Battle Chasers was one of the initial three comic book series published under the Cliffhanger label, which Madureira founded with fellow artists J. Scott Campbell () and Humberto Ramos () for Jim Lee's Image Comics imprint, WildStorm. When Wildstorm was sold to DC Comics in 1999, the Cliffhanger titles moved along, and issues 5 through 8 of Battle Chasers were published by DC, until Madureira left the publisher, and released Battle Chasers #9 through Image Comics. The last issue, #9 was published in September 2001 and had a cliffhanger-ending that was never concluded, as Battle Chasers #10 (scheduled for November 2001) was never released because Madureira canceled it. Joe Madureira left the comic industry and placed the series "on hold" to pursue a career as a video game designer. This compilation is complete to the best of my knowledge. Despite being unfinished, still great stuff. And I love Red Monika.
