Formed in London in 1980, the Legendary Pink Dots moved to Amsterdam in the middle of the decade. Members throughout the band's career have been Edward Ka-Spel (vocals, keyboards) and Phil Knight (keyboards), also known as the Silver Man, with a shifting supporting cast over the years. The Dots' music is by turns melodic pop and exotic psychedelia, with classical influences, sampling, and relentlessly dark, violent, apocalyptic lyrics…

British progressive rock band Jody Grind issued two obscure albums combining hard rock, jazz, blues, and classical influences with lineups emphasizing Hammond organ, guitar, and drums. Prone to long instrumental riffing and rather ponderous, stern original material, they were similar to other very early organ-oriented U.K. progressive rock acts. But they did not possess the originality, or songwriting or vocal talent, to match well-known exponents of the style such as the various groups in which organists Keith Emerson, Vincent Crane, and Brian Auger played…

Fughu is a progressive metal band originating from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They were formed in 1999, but it wasn't until 2009 that they released their debut album titled "Absence". The album can be described as progressive metal in the vein of Dream Theater in Symphony X, though Fughu does have their own sound. It contains 12 songs, and is definitely worth a listen for someone looking for some good new progressive metal.
2013 was a much busier year in the recording studio as the band simultaneously released two albums: "Human (The Tales)" and "Human (The Facts)"…

Le Silo are a 3-piece band from Japan, that play a widely influenced blend of demanding prog rock, which mostly takes the form of RIO and avant-jazz, with punk-rock stylistics, which is not only captivating, but well played. By no means is their sound entirely original, but the musicianship is of a high quality and they do indeed have some very excellent and surprising moments too. Their punk stylistics are evident and with Miyako's links to Yoshida Tatsuya, then it is obvious they are influenced by Ruins and Koenjihyakkei and most likely Boredoms and Happy Family as well. Non-Japanese bands they are likely influenced by, include Univers Zéro, Present, French TV, Samla Mammas Manna and Miriodor…

Neverness was born around 1998 in Valladolid Spain. During 1998 and 1999 the band rehearses and prepares material for their first release and after this period the first songs see the light with a clear 70's influenced Symphonic sound, which leads to the release of their debut album "Horizonte de Sucesos", album that adds Psychedelic and Hard Rock elements that places them clearly in the style of late 90's and early 2000's Symphonic bands that blend different influences. This album has a clear Symphonic sound with songs that have an average of 15 minutes each one and placed the band in the eyes of the fans of the genre…

German band Traumhaus was formed back in 1994 with vocalist and keyboardist Alexander Weyland as its central member. They released their self-titled debut album back in 2001, on the now defunct Angular Records label. Seven years later they released their second album "Die Andere Seite", this time on Saustark Records. When they reappeared in 2013 with their third full length album it was released through the German label Progressive Promotion Records. While the style looks back to many German bands of the 70s and 80s, their use of angular melodies and their native tongue draws valid comparisons to one in particular, Anyone's Daughter…
