Norwegian symphonic black metal giants, DIMMU BORGIR, finally emerge from the depths of darkness, to mark 2017 as the year of their monumental return. On April 28th, they will finally release their highly-anticipated DVD »Forces Of The Northern Night«, containing two of the band's live rituals: Their legendary show in Oslo, showing DIMMU BORGIR on stage with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and a bombastic choir, as well as the entire performance at Wacken Open Air 2012 with almost 100 musicians on stage. Both concerts present a spectacular sound scenario of raging black metal in front of an epic orchestral landscape and the band's unique visuals.
In Behind the Player: Dimmu Borgir, guitarists Silenoz and Galder give an intimate behind-the-scenes look at their lives as professional musicians, including rare photos and video footage. Silenoz and Galder also provide in-depth guitar lessons on how to play Dimmu Borgir's "The Serpentine Offering" and "The Chosen Legacy." The VideoTab system shows exactly how Silenoz and Galder play their parts in the songs.
On May 28, 2011 Dimmu Borgir gave a very special one-off show at the Oslo Spektrum with the Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Schola Cantorum choir – being the first ever extreme metal band to play a show live with an orchestra and choir. A live album and DVD of the show titled "Forces of the Northern Night" with an accompanying documentary is scheduled for release later this year.
Sons of Satan Gather for Attack is a split album between Dimmu Borgir and Old Man's Child. It is actually a compilation of two EPs: Dimmu Borgir's Devil's Path, and Old Man's Child's In the Shades of Life. It was originally released in 1999 as Devil's Path/In the Shades of Life by Hammerheart Records.
