David Parsons revisits gterma with a new album which was completed in 2015. Although perhaps mainly known for his panoramic and almost cinematic Himalayan soundworlds, on Puja he continues his more recent tradition of travelling the inner horizon. And in so doing, he also invites us listeners to undertake similar journeys of our own. Puja is a mysterious and magic constellation, fuelled by the spirit and discipline of the age old Asian cultures and philosophies…

Stupa is the latest release from New Zealand producer of ambient. These ambient arrangements are from the sphere where ambient and Indian classical music converge. Dig out your Ramayana and float away on a little lotus leaf along the river of souls. "Stupa" follows in David's hypnotic tradition of mixing traditional Indian instruments with keyboards and electronics, a clash of times and cultures with that unmistakable magic charm. The material used for this album was composed between 2011 and 2013. The album comes in a jewel case with a 16-page booklet.

David Parsons is always on the cutting edge of ambient world music. He is a master synthesist and a master multi-instrumentalist. He combines those talents with a deep soul and a sharp sense of sound design to create brilliant electro-tribal music. "Vajra", his first release on Groove Unlimited, is a major milestone in that style. While he emphasizes his use of electronics, David brings acoustic and ethnic instruments to the table as well. On this cd he uses no vocals but the music chants in its own language at its own pace. The messages vary but they tend to be about love, devotion, harmony and peace…

This two-CD set is a meditative concept piece inspired by Mt. Kailas, a pyramid-shaped mountain in Western Tibet that's considered holy to the area's Hindus, Buddhists, and Bons (the old religion of Tibet)…

This album marks a rare maturity merging excellent original acoustic recordings with Tibetan Lamas and their instruments, together with extremely delicate and inspired layering of keyboards and moving electronic vibrations… able to encompass from the quietest silence to massive landscapes of Himalayan proportions…

Shaman provides music and titles "evoking images of ancient and non-Western cultures". Conceptually, the album seeks to transport the listener into the mystical past of early civilization. Parsons accomplishes this by using some of today's most sophisticated music gear. Here his synth programming abilities are evident as Parsons creates sounds alien to the acoustic world. Repetitive patterns, reminiscent of '70s Berlin School, influenced by Eastern sensibilities are at the core of this release. Most of the six tracks build from a feeling of anticipation and continue on to sweep us away in a rapid swirl of synth rhythm patterns. The philosophy behind Shaman may be from the dawn of time, but the sounds are that of the 21st century.
