Forming over 6 years ago, Salt Lake City natives Clifton blend classic North American metal (Pantera, Metallica) with a southern dissonance (EyeHateGod, Crowbar) and have crafted a stellar debut we like to call, "We Never Change". Recording in the fall of '05 the band spent their formative years performing locally with bands like Sworn Enemy, Kittie, Cave In and others at venues like the legendary Skrappys. The band has also made four trips touring North America with Destroy the Runner (Solid State Records) and Lorane Drive (Lobster Records).

Clifton Chenier (June 25, 1925 - December 12, 1987), a Creole French-speaking native of Opelousas, Louisiana, was an eminent performer and recording artist of Zydeco, which arose from Cajun and Creole music, with R&B, jazz, and blues influences. He played the accordion and won a Grammy Award in 1983.He also was recognized with a National Heritage Fellowship and in 1989 was inducted posthumously into the Blues Hall of Fame. He was known as the 'King of Zydeco'.
