SCARED TO GET HAPPY (A Story Of Indie Pop 1980-1989) was the first box set ever to document the explosion of Indie Pop in Britain across the 1980s. This release is a 5 CD Cherry Red's box set, charting Indie Pop’s development from the post punk era and the dominance of Scottish bands through to its genre-defining C86 period and onto the end of the decade, with the arrival of Madchester and the shoegazing sound.

This 3-CD set expands upon an original V/A LP, A Splash Of Colour, issued by WEA at the start of 1982 and including many of the Nu Psych scene’s major players: Mood Six, High Tide, Miles Over Matter, The Barracudas and The Times. All the musical tracks from this landmark album now appear on CD for the very first time!

After the triumphs of their first four albums, all hailed as comedy gems, Cheech and Chong’s act began to stale. In 1975 instead of a new album they issued a single to ride the “Jaws” film phenomenon – “(How I Spent My Summer Vacation) Or A Day At The Beach With Pedro And Man.” The single peaked at #15 on the Billboard singles chart. Fans had to wait until 1976 for the next stoner comedy fix. “Sleeping Beauty” was the uneven album the duo delivered. While it reached #25 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, it remained on the charts only 13 weeks. It was a sign of things to come.

Included here are the albums of new material Cheech and Chong released between 1976 and 1985.
"Sleeping Beauty” (1976)
The “Up In Smoke” soundtrack (1978)
“Let’s Make A New Dope Deal” (1980)
“Get Out Of My Room” (1985)
as well as a stand-alone .wav file of their 1975 single “(How I Spent My Summer Vacation) Or A Day At The Beach With Pedro And Man.”

Having just scored their first big hits with Adventures in Utopia, Utopia inexplicably took a step into arcana with its follow-up, Deface the Music. Foregoing the radio-ready style of Adventures, Utopia delves deeply into Beatlemania, creating a swift, brutally funny and insanely catchy send-up of the Fab Four's entire career. Clearly, the high (nearly arty) concept makes Deface the Music the first Utopia album since Another Live to sound like it is solely the work of Todd Rundgren.
