After the triumphs of their first four albums, all hailed as comedy gems, Cheech and Chong’s act began to stale. In 1975 instead of a new album they issued a single to ride the “Jaws” film phenomenon – “(How I Spent My Summer Vacation) Or A Day At The Beach With Pedro And Man.” The single peaked at #15 on the Billboard singles chart. Fans had to wait until 1976 for the next stoner comedy fix. “Sleeping Beauty” was the uneven album the duo delivered. While it reached #25 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart, it remained on the charts only 13 weeks. It was a sign of things to come.

Included here are the albums of new material Cheech and Chong released between 1976 and 1985.
"Sleeping Beauty” (1976)
The “Up In Smoke” soundtrack (1978)
“Let’s Make A New Dope Deal” (1980)
“Get Out Of My Room” (1985)
as well as a stand-alone .wav file of their 1975 single “(How I Spent My Summer Vacation) Or A Day At The Beach With Pedro And Man.”

Billy Harper (born January 17, 1943) is an American jazz saxophonist, "one of a generation of Coltrane-influenced tenor saxophonists" with a distinctively stern, hard-as-nails sound on his instrument. In 1965 Harper earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas. Harper has played with some of jazz's greatest drummers; he served with Art Blakey's Messengers for two years (1968–70); he played very briefly with Elvin Jones (1970), he played with the Thad Jones/ Mel Lewis Orchestra in the 1970s, and was a member of Max Roach's band in the late 1970s.

The deranged adventures of Gonzo journalist Hunter Thompson and his attorney Oscar Acosta, referred to in the movie as "Laslow". Thompson attempts to cover the Super Bowl and the 1972 Presidential election in his typical drug-crazed state, but is continually and comically sidetracked by his even more twisted friend Laslow. Allegedly based on actual events.

Burnin' At Backstreet was recorded at the Backstreet Club in New haven Connecticut on February 19, 1980. Baker and Frank appear in a quartet format with bassist Michael Formanek and pianist Drew Salperto. The repertoire is wholly Baker. Baker loved the Miles Davis songbook and his performances of Davis originals were always more rounded and open than Davis.' "Tune Up," the modal "Milestones" and craggy "Four" share the stage with another Baker favorite, Dizzy Gillespie's "Blue 'n Boogie." Baker is in good solo form on these up tempo numbers. His tone is fat and confident, even when presented tartly, like the opening of "Milestones"…

A sweet blend of jazz and soul from Patti Austin – and a set that's a bit different than some other CTI albums of the 70s given that it was recorded down south, at deep soul powerhouse Muscle Shoals! The sound is surprisingly rootsy on a few numbers and warmly jazzy on others and Patti's still got all the polish she picked up from her years with Quincy Jones, but she's also stepping out a bit more as an artist with a stronger emotional palette. Austin works with some great original material that includes the tracks "(Ooh-Wee) He's Killing Me" and "I Can't Stop" as well as surprising covers, like Squeeze's "Another Nail From My Heart", Isaac Hayes' "Body Language", and Bob Seeger's "We've Got Tonight".
