Avalon is the eighth and final studio album by English rock band Roxy Music. Released in May 1982, it was recorded in 1981–82 at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, and is generally regarded as the culmination of the smoother, more adult-oriented sound of the band's later work. It was the band's most successful studio album, reaching No. 1 in the UK (for 3 weeks) and staying on the album charts for over a year. Although it only peaked at No. 53 in the United States, Avalon endured as a sleeper hit and became the band's only million-selling record in that country, ultimately receiving a platinum certification.
Oboe and English horn lead the lush Avalon Strings through Summertime, Love is Here to Stay, Someone to Watch Over Me and ten more Gershwin classics. Instrumentation includes English horn, oboe & strings.

Music for the faerie kingdom. Collected from a twelve tribe planet. Here in Avalon, we are celebrating the dawning of the new age with this specially prepared CD compilation of music that we have discovered. The music somehow describes the world's growing cultural awareness that is emerging in the environs of the legendary Glastonbury Tor - Mount Zion - the Grail Castle. The music is a fusion of both indigenous and planetary styles and sympathetic use of modern harmonic technology, which has been gifted to humanity's musical community for this very purpose…
Older jazz fans may remember Larry Coryell from the 1970s as a major jazz fusion guitarist, but this 2001 session with Cedar Walton, Buster Williams, and Billy Drummond finds him long since settled into a post-bop mode. One gets the feeling that the musicians were so comfortable playing together that they were actually a working quartet; the feeling of each track is of first-take freshness while being as close to perfection as possible.

The Plague Within is the 14th studio album by the British doom metal band Paradise Lost. Like all great bands, Paradise Lost have always carved their own path and been at the forefront of the metal movement. Their 1990 debut offering Lost Paradise changed the climate of the scene. Combining the crushingly heavy riffs of Black Sabbath and Trouble with insanely inhuman growls have inspired countless bands over the years. Back with their fourteenth studio release, The Plague Within finds the band rediscovering their early heavy roots. Paradise Lost guitarist Greg Mackintosh has described 14th release The Plague Within as a “marmite album.”
