The Musea label and the Finnish magazine Colossus endlessly continue their quest for the greatest universal themes, in order to complete their collection of concept-albums dedicated to Progressive rock. The hero of the day is Dante Alighieri, the famous medieval author from Firenze who wrote "The Divine Comedy". That's precisely this epic piece of work, without a doubt one of the greatest books of all times, that serves as the basis for this project. And of course, it has been divided in three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio and Paradiso. The first volume is made of thirty-four "cantos" dispatched on four discs, each one showing the personal interpretation of an international band, according to the rules of the genre: no drumboxes, the only instruments allowed are those of the mighty Seventies, the same as for the musical inspiration. Nuova Era, Nemo, Nexus, Willowglass, Ars Nova, Sinkadus, Simon Says and many more…

The Spaghetti Epic: Six Modern Рrog Bands For Six '70 Рrog Suites (2004). Musea and Finnish magazine Colossus have come up trumps with their 'Six Modern Prog Bands For Six '70 Prog Suites' idea. Two and quarter hours of quality music and a booklet that has to be seen to be believed (including a documented story of the film, illustrated story boards and various photographs). The sheer audacity of such a concept has to be applauded and encouraged, particularly as the results are so good…

United State Of Ambience (1994). The first of the United State of Ambience series probably features a more stylistically diverse collection of tracks than either of the follow-ups. In fact, at many times the collection seems to veer off into the worldbeat genre, where sampled chants and hand drums take the place of synth pads and computerized sound effects. Other times, it hovers perilously close to new age. The compilation was released in 1994, when electronica was still a very new genre - and it shows. Both the Eastern-influenced "Goa: Season of the Monsoon" and the uplifting "Creation" are underscored with fairly up-tempo drum tracks - something you would never find on a more recent ambient work…

With its global line-up of talent and generally high quality control, the Chill Out Or Die series from Rising High Records played a major role in the rebirth of ambient music via dance and rave culture in the 1990's. The music on the Chill Out Or Die albums was actually an exception to the majority of the label's output which focused on club records, from gabba hardcore and hard techno to more accessible trance, techno and house. The joy of discovery, the sense of wonder, the weirdness of trying new things with new technological tools: it's all there in abundance on the Chill Out Or Die series…

2012 three CD collection from Blank & Jones. After the success of the So8os compilation it was about time to bring u another exciting decade… the 90's! The concept of So9os is a bit different from So8os. When they got deeper into it, they saw how diversified the '90s were, with a lot of different musical genres. So they decided to dig deeper and find out which songs still sound fresh after 20 years and really have a great production. They also decided to keep the whole dance music explosion from 1995 onwards aside. Not just keep their own career as musicians and producers aside, but also not to focus on only one musical genre. The first So9os release includes some massive tunes from P.M. Dawn, Saint Etienne, Baby Dee, Stereo MC's and many others.
