The first ever release on CD of the bands third and final album All Funked Up from 1975. MICKY MOODY of course went on to join WHITESNAKE and BOBBY HARRISON then released his first solo album Funkist…
This Deluxe two CD edition of the Dutch alto-saxophonist's 2009 album shows two sides of Candy - the energetic stage persona and intimate seductress. Disc 1 “Funked Up” is the follow-up to Candy's successful Candy Store album. The album is filled with the Funk and R&B that she injects into her live performances but seldom brings into the studio. Disc 2, Chilled Out, contains relaxed, mellow grooves for those late night hours, inspired by the music that Candy and producer Thomas Bank composed for the soundtrack the wine documentary 'Kissed By The Grape'.
' "Funked Up: The Very Best of Parliament" is a full-priced, one-disc summation of Parliament's recordings for Casablanca Records. The album's focus is "chart success," and it includes among its 16 tracks 14 of Parliament's 19 R&B singles chart entries on Casablanca, including all of their R&B Top 40 hits. Six of these tracks reached the R&B Top Ten, with two, "Flash Light" and "Aqua Boogie" hitting number one. All of Parliament's big hits and most of its lesser ones are here.' William Ruhlmann at AMG
Bloom is Eric Johnson's fifth studio release, released in June 2005. It was the first studio release since his 1996 album Venus Isle almost nine years prior. However in these nine years he had released a live album by his side-project Alien Love Child entitled Live and Beyond in 2000 as well as an album of previously unreleased material titled Souvenir in 2002. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2006 under the category of Best Pop Instrumental Album. Special guests include Grammy Award-winning vocalist Shawn Colvin and guitarist Adrian Legg.
Soft Machine were one of the very first groups to fuse Jazz with Rock in the late 60s and were hugely appreciated in Europe for their unique sound. This previously unreleased show was recorded for Germany's famous NDR Jazz Workshop series featuring the line-up of Mike Ratledge, Karl Jenkins, Roy Babbington and John Marshall with Art Themen and Gary Boyle. This long sought-after performance has never been seen since its original broadcast in 1973 and is the highest quality video document that exists of the group, featuring clear and beautiful visuals and superb live stereo sound!
