Nearly 45 years after its release, The Rolling Stones performed their landmark 1971 album in its entirety for the first time—at Los Angeles’ cozy Fonda Theatre. The original sequencing has been shuffled but the songs remain vital. While the silky guitar lines of “Sway” and the legendary riffs of “Brown Sugar” pack a wallop, it’s the shimmer of “Moonlight Mile” and brassy heat of “Can’t You Hear Me Knocking” that best showcase the Stones’ remarkable live prowess.

Pieced together from outtakes and much-labored-over songs, Sticky Fingers manages to have a loose, ramshackle ambience that belies both its origins and the dark undercurrents of the songs. It's a weary, drug-laden album — well over half the songs explicitly mention drug use, while the others merely allude to it — that never fades away, but it barely keeps afloat…

Earlier this year, The Rolling Stones embarked on a 10-city Latin American tour. The tour culminated with a March 25th concert in Havana, Cuba, marking the first time a major international rock band performed in the country since the United States lifted embargo sanctions. Already, the band has announced a full-length documentary chronicling that historic outing: Olé Olé Olé!: A Trip Across Latin America premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month. Now, they’ve announced the release of a live album and concert film centered around the Cuba performance in particular.
