Hawkwind's leader is heard on vocals, guitars, bass, and a host of keyboards in these multi-track studio recordings from the late '70s.

Weird Tapes, Vol. 6 is an excellent entry into the series, given that the sound quality is generally a vast improvement upon previously released versions of these songs, while there are sufficient differences to suggest that several of them have been remixed or even sourced from altogether different performances.

A CD release of the live at Plymouth 1978 weird tape. Just a great consistent recording albeit it's a live good sound quality of one of the best Hawkwind line up's (Hawklords) with Bob Calvert stealing the show as usual! Very much in tune with the new wave. Outstanding!

What we've got here is a live recording of Frank Black and his early backing band (Lyle Workman, Eric Drew Feldman, and Nick Vincent) on the Teenager of the Year tour. They did a French radio show called Les Black Sessions, and apparently decided to release the recording. This isn't a bootleg, though it does kind of look like one.

This CD is the reissue of a mid-'80s limited edition cassette (with remastered sound and new artwork). The Weird Tapes No. 3: Free Festivals collects excerpts from two live performances. The first two-thirds of the CD was recorded at a show at Stonehenge in 1977 and features Bob Calvert, Dave Brock, Simon King, Simon House, and Adrian Shaw. The sound quality is very nice considering the archival origins of the tapes, and the energy and musicianship ranks among the band's best efforts around that time.
