This celebration of Jethro Tull’s tenth album follows a similar pattern to previous reissues, with the first disc containing a Steven Wilson remix followed by some ‘associated recordings’ including the previously unreleased Old Aces Die Hard and Working John, Working Joe. CDs two and three offer 22 track live tracks, recorded on the Songs From The Wood Tour across two American dates, (Boston on 6 December 1977 and Maryland on 21 November 1977). Today, Chuck Willis is rightly acknowledged as a breakthrough pioneer of R&B who, after a few years of R&B only chart hits suddenly broke through to the pop market with five hits between 1957 and 1958. "It's Too Late" was a hit for Chuck in 1956 and proved instantly popular with other R&B stars as well as pop stars generating recordings from Buddy Holly, Eric Clapton, Roy Orbison, Charlie Rich (featured here), Otis Redding and many others including most recently Kanye West who used a sample of Otis Redding's version of the song "It's Too Late" on his multi-platinum album 'Late Registration' for the track "Gone". Chuck Willis was a real singer/songwriter before the description was ever used and this superb 2CD set from Jasmine is a fitting testimonial to Chuck's immense talent.

Appearing almost 18 months after his death, Songs from the Road is the first posthumous disc from Jeff Healey. Collecting highlights from his 2006 performance at Norway's Notodden Blues Festival. Songs from the Road paints a good portrait of Healey the road warrior, playing old favorites, both of his own and a wide variety of classic rock and blues artists. Healey doesn't surprise here, either in repertoire or attack, but he does satisfy, both as a guitarist and an all-around entertainer, making this collection a nice coda to his career.

An above-average soundtrack to a mediocre film, this dance-oriented album hits more than it misses. The title track by David Bowie is fluff by his standards, but as it's produced by Nile Rodgers (a year before their collaboration on Black Tie White Noise), it's danceable fluff. Further in, the album samples the beginnings of the '90s techno revolution, with excellent tracks from Future Sound of London ("Papua New Guinea"), Moby ("Next Is the E"), Ministry's Bush-era primal scream "N.W.O.," and Mindless's "Mindless." Brian Eno's exclusive track "Under" is one of his best from the '90s.
