Chronicles the reign of Commodus, the emperor whose rule marked the beginning of Rome's fall.
An academic and graphic account of the rule of the famously narcissistic Roman Emperor Commodus, who inherited the Roman Empire from his father, Marcus Aurelius, at the height of its expansion in the second century AD, told over a backdrop of violence, sex, and corruption.

For their 5th album, German trumpeter Julian and pianist Roman Wasserfuhr are in Brooklyn. If Brooklyn were not one of the five boroughs of New York City, its 2.6 million inhabitants would make it the 4th largest city in the United States. And the secret is out: Manhattan may have the establishment institutions like Lincoln Center or the Village Vanguard, but the real action is in Brooklyn, with an abundance of creativity being generated by musicians from the Wasserfuhr brothers’ generation, working in apartments, lofts, bars, clubs and studios.

On the shores of Israel's Mediterranean coast lay Ashkelon, a seaport since 3,500BC. It became one of the most important cities of the ancient world. The Romans conquered Ashkelon in 37BC and stayed for four centuries. Archaeologists have excavated here and the most surprising finding was a pit with numerous skeletons of newborn babies, thrown into the sewers beneath a Roman bathhouse. The investigations carried out are essential to unravel a mystery that has remained hidden for long. This program investigates a murder-mystery nearly two thousand years old.

Pompeii: one of the most famous volcanic eruptions in history. We know how its victims died, but this film sets out to answer another question - how did they live? Gleaning evidence from an extraordinary find, Cambridge professor and Pompeii expert Mary Beard provides new insight into the lives of the people who lived in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius before its cataclysmic eruption. In a dark cellar in Oplontis, just three miles from the centre of Pompeii, 54 skeletons who didn't succumb to the torrent of volcanic ash are about to be put under the microscope.
