Nancy Wilson's R.S.V.P. (Rare Songs, Very Personal) is her duets album, but unlike other recent releases by singers in this format, which feature two vocalists (and often oddly matched ones, at that), most of the pairings here are with instrumentalists like George Shearing, Toots Thielemans, Phil Woods, and Gary Burton, which means this remains very much Wilson's baby, dominated by her hushed and elegant vocals. Only two tracks feature other vocalists, one of which, a saccharine cover of Marvin Gaye's "Why Did I Choose You" sung with Kenny Lattimore, is worth a plea to the gods to let Gaye return to this veil of tears and give Wilson a worthy singing partner. Less pop than her recent outings, R.S.V.P. is mostly made up of ballads, highlighted by a wonderful version of Gordon Jenkins' "Goodbye" and the elegant.

The Invitations were a pop vocal group from the 1950's featuring Sonny Kamaka, Alec Kaeck, Buddy Fo, Clem Low, and John Costello, who were about being true beach boys by singing songs about love and romance, along with the ladies they loved, all done in a Hawaiian motif. They started in the mid to late 1950's and were signed to Liberty Records. They continued after Hawaii statehood in 1959 and made music during the first half of the 1960's before Buddy Fo decided to explore his own musical career. R.S.V.P. was originally released by Liberty Records in 1969. This is taken from the Japanese CD released in 2006.

Richard S. Sinclair is an English progressive rock bassist, guitarist, and vocalist who has been a member of several bands of the Canterbury scene (Caravan, Hatfield and the North, The Wilde Flowers). R.S.V.P. was released in June, 1994 and with the exception of Andy Ward and Jimmy Hastings, all the participants were new: Didier Malherbe, the sax player from Gong, Kit Watkins, the fabulous keyboard player from Happy The Man and later Camel (where he met Andy Ward), Tony Coe (famous jazz clarinet player, from Canterbury, whose father used to play music with Sinclair's), drummer Dave Cohen, a friend from the States who had played with the band on their late 1993 European tour…

In the 1950s, Herbie Mann frequently shared the spotlight on record dates with other flutists. This V.S.O.P. LP, a reissue of a set originally for Mode and also out for awhile on Premier, matches Mann (who here also plays piccolo, clarinet and tenor) with Buddy Collette (switching between flute, clarinet, tenor and alto) in a quintet with pianist Jimmy Rowles, bassist Buddy Clark and drummer Mel Lewis. The results are generally pleasing, if somewhat lightweight, with such obscure tunes as "Here's Buddy," Rowles' "Pop Melody," "Here's Pete" and Mann's "Theme from 'Theme From'" alternating with three standards and Chico Hamilton's "Morning After."

Greatest Hits is the first compilation album by Australian singer Jason Donovan. The collection was released in 1991. The album featured all his UK hit singles up to this point apart from his No.1 single "Any Dream Will Do", which featured on the cast recording of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (released on the Polydor label). 10 of the 13 tracks had featured on Donovan's first two albums, with new singles "R.S.V.P." and "Happy Together" included along with a cover of the Elvis Presley hit "A Fool Such as I". This album marked the end of Donovan's work with Stock Aitken Waterman, the producers who had masterminded his music career up to this point. The album reached No.9 on the UK Charts…

Reissue with latest DSD remastering. Comes with liner notes. With the cheers and huzzahs from their 1976 one-off reunion still resounding, the reconstituted Miles Davis Quintet minus Miles went on the road in 1977, spreading their 1965-vintage gospel according to the Prince of Darkness to audiences in Berkeley and San Diego, CA. In doing so, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams, plus interloper Freddie Hubbard seem to pick up where they left off, with a repertoire mostly new to the five collectively and developed from there.
