"Hopeless Romantic" is the fourth studio album by Michelle Branch. It’s scheduled to be released on April 7th. It serves as follow-up to 2010’s EP "Everything Comes and Goes", and becomes the first full length project in about 14 years ("Hotel Paper" was released in 2003). The singer-songwriter worked with the Black Keys’ Patrick Carney on her fourth LP. He told her "This is your record, it has to sound like you". She discovered was a laid-back rock & roll sound, with deeply personal lyrics inspired by her 2015 divorce and — plot twist! — her budding romance with Carney. "The lust, the love, the heartbreak" she says. "It’s all there".
Like many fans, one of the things you can always love about the music of Warren Zevon has been his frequent refusal to play nice. While Zevon could write with tenderness and compassion when the spirit moved him, he was more likely to sound sarcastic, spiteful, venomous, and generally announce (loudly and with enthusiasm) that the emperor was naked given the appropriate subject, and he wasn't afraid to take on his friends and collaborators when so inclined.
