Jarekus Singleton (born July 11, 1984 in Clinton, Mississippi, United States) is an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter. Refuse To Lose was his first nationally and internationally distributed album. It was released on the Chicago-based independent blues record label Alligator Records on May 6, 2014. England's Blues & Rhythm called Singleton "a great, new blues talent…young, original, soulful and intense…superb, blistering guitar." According to Living Blues magazine, "Jarekus Singleton is making some serious blues noise…blending modern-day blues and emotionally intense soul with melodic, hot-toned lead guitar, funk-seasoned rhythms and hip-hop flavored lyrics." The Washington Post said, "Jarekus Singleton is an exciting new young blues guitarist with melody, hooks, swagger and a strong, original voice. His lyrics are modern, personal, acutely poetic and deeply mature." USA Today said of Singleton, "Stinging blues guitar and potent, original songs herald the emergence of a major new talent."

Malin Pettersen is well known by Americana fans in Norway, through 11 years on the road with Americana band Lucky Lips and countless collaborations. The spring of 2018 she will be releasing her first solo album and it’s safe to say – it’s been a long journey. The writing of the songs for References Pt. 1 started 5 years ago, as she got pregnant with her first child. The work with getting the songs ready and a band together started the following year, and three years ago the recording prosess finally started. References Pt. 1 is difficult to cage up as it erupts as free spirited rock on one track, more folky on another, down to even pure country songs on some. This showcases the studio proscess and the way the producers and musicians worked together to create this vivid and genuine album.

The songs this time out are an eclectic grab bag, ranging from a '60-style orchestral pop cover of a '90s grunge classic ("Smells Like Teen Spirit") to a '40s swing rendition of a paranoid '80s MTV hit ("Who Can It Be Now") to Mario Jose and India Carney subbing for Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé on "Perfect Duet" - and upping the stakes with a guest shot by sax star Dave Koz! There's also our eerie cinematic read of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy," a soulful Italian redo of Andrea Bocelli's "The Prayer," and - finally - our take on Europe’s immortal "The Final Countdown" for anyone who's wanted a more throwback style for their Segway-mounted magic shows! (There's got to be some "Arrested Development" fans out there, right? Right?)

Lola , of course, became a classic-rock radio mainstay, but this entire 1970 album is nothing less than essential: Apeman; Got to Be Free; A Long Way from Home; Rats , and more songs that run from the funny to the furious.

Trevor Jackson made his recorded debut during the early 2010s and continued to juggle dual careers as an actor and pop-oriented R&B artist. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Jackson played Young Simba in the Chicago production of The Lion King before he moved to Los Angeles to be closer to the movie, television, and music industries. In 2010, he joined the cast of the SyFy network series Eureka, and in 2012 his role in Disney's hip-hop-themed movie Let It Shine provided the perfect stepping stone for a career in music. In 2013, after he signed to major-label Atlantic, he released the singles "Like We Grown" and "Superman," both of which landed on his New Thang EP later that same year. A handful of singles scattered across 2014 and early 2015 led to the mixtape In My Feelings, after which Jackson resumed acting work with a role on the series American Crime, appearances on Black-ish, and a lead role in the film Burning Sands. Jackson inked a distribution deal with Empire and returned to music in 2017 with singles ahead of the planned 2018 release Rough Drafts, Pt. 1. By that point, Jackson was also set to be part of the main cast of the Black-ish spinoff Grown-ish.
