Anthony "Duster" Bennett (23 September 1946 – 26 March 1976) was a British blues singer and musician. Based around London, his first album Smiling Like I'm Happy saw him playing as a one-man band. Playing a bass drum and hi-hat with his feet, and blowing a harmonica on a rack while strumming his Les Paul Goldtop guitar. Backed by his girlfriend Stella Sutton and the original Fleetwood Mac on three tracks, the album was well-received among blues fans. He was very popular on the local blues club scene until his death in a car crash in 1976. Wikipedia

Of course, Tony Bennett never was "plugged in," so the concept here is redundant, but what the hell. It's been a while since a Tony Bennett live album, and he's always terrific in concert. Certainly, he is here, singing 22 pop standards, including many of his hits and many other songs he's made his own. Elvis Costello and k.d. lang drop by, but they're feeding off Bennett's energy and star power, not the other way around. The album may be part of a successful marketing plan, but forget that and revel in the singing of a masterful song interpreter still, after 40 years, at the top of his game.

2009 collection, a special sampler from the British based Blues label Blue Horizon. "Ground-Breaking Blues" is designed as an introduction to Sony Music / Blue Horizon's ongoing "The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions" series. Label founder Mike Vernon provides the sleeve notes and describes the 14 tracks on this CD as his own personal favourites. He believes that they "give an excellent indication of what the would-be purchaser will find should he or she decide to delve further into the available catalogue". As well as acting as a fine sampler for the series, it works as a terrific blues collection in its own right, with key names like Fleetwood Mac, Chicken Shack and Champion Jack Dupree nestling alongside lesser-known acts such as Gordon Smith, Johnny Shines and Key Largo. The booklet details all personnel / recording dates and locations, and the inlay underneath the CD depicts 16 available titles from the series.

Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from the British Blues/Rock drummer and his band. These albums, released in 1970 and 1972 on the Fontana and Vertigo labels, show a change in direction from their first two albums. With guitarist Dave Kelly replaced by Nick Pickett, the band moved slightly away from their original blues roots, but didn't really find the commercial success they deserved.

Misty is the 1973 album by Brian Bennett's Collage. Originally it was released simply under the name Collage but for this 1994 See For Miles CD pressing, Bennett's name had taken the primary credit to let people of a new generation know why this album is important. This album also has the keyboard work of Alan Hawkshaw, known in some circles as the man behind The Mohawks. For those who like the feel of Bob James or what CTI Records and Tappan Zee released throughout the 1970's, try out the soothing funkiness of Collage.

In some ways, Duster can be considered one of the first fusion records. Vibraphonist Gary Burton had just added the young rock/blues guitarist Larry Coryell to his quartet (which also included bassist Steve Swallow and drummer Roy Haynes), and Coryell's influence can be felt throughout the performances. Highlights include Michael Gibbs' "Sweet Rain," Swallow's "General Mojo's Well Laid Plan," Coryell's exploratory and speedy "One, Two, 1-2-3-4," and Carla Bley's "Sing Me Softly of the Blues." Although Burton's basic sound had not changed during from the previous year, his openness toward other styles made his Quartet one of the most significant jazz groups of the period. This was the first of the four Burton-Coryell recordings.

This 2008's four CD set, the most extensive retrospective look at Peter Green's truly legendary career. The set contains essential Peter Green music drawn from all stages of his career. From his first tentative recordings with the likes of Peter Bardens and John Mayall, it moves through the genesis of Fleetwood Mac and the band's many classic blues recordings including "Ramblin' Pony" and "Black Magic Woman". Fleetwood Mac's subsequent blues and rock fusion chart hits - titles like the utterly unique "Albatross", "Oh Well" and the haunting "Man Of The World" - are all included, as is the best of his later solo work and Splinter Group recordings. The set is stylishly packaged in a hardback digicase with 64-page booklet containing enlightening liner notes, rare photographs, memorabilia, plus commentary and artwork from Peter himself. Quite simply, this is the ultimate Peter Green collection - a special release befitting a special musician and songwriter who is rightly one of the most revered blues guitarists of all time.

After acknowledging Eric Clapton and George Harrison in the audience at a concert at London's Royal Albert Hall in 1969, B.B. King was heard to have said 'But I've got to say that I'm sorry, Peter Green is best'. From recent solo work through classic early Fleetwood Mac tracks and even earlier John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers cuts, this is an essential overview of the development of one of rock's most intriguing, talented and misunderstood enigmas. Contains 'Kind Hearted Woman', 'Born Under A Bad Sign' and 'A Fool No More'.
