Melodic Death/Thrash Metal

Montreal, Quebec metallers Dissension have release their debut album ‘Of Time And Chronic Disease. Creating a hybrid of sounds rather than sticking to one pure style, Dissension’s approach on its inaugural full-length is to keep the guitars more on the thrash end of things, while everything else is more along the lines of symphonic black or death metal. There are some dazzling and acrobatic guitar solos, along with some power metal moments, but overall, the tracks tend to be of the dark and menacing variety. With the strong symphonic black metal atmosphere, much of the album will be pleasing to fans of the lesser known bands like Fairytale Abuse or Gothmog, or those that mix in thrash like Siebenburgen.
Fetal Nutrition and Adult Disease: Programming of Chronic Disease through Fetal Exposure to Undernutrition

S. C. Langley-Evans "Fetal Nutrition and Adult Disease: Programming of Chronic Disease through Fetal Exposure to Undernutrition"
Publisher: CABI 2004 | 444 Pages | ISBN: 0851998216 | PDF | 4.5 MB

Over the last decade, epidemiological studies have suggested that risk of coronary heart disease, stroke mortality and hypertension is, in part, related to the environment encountered during fetal life. In particular, maternal undernutrition during pregnancy has been highlighted as a causal factor in the long-term programming of disease risk. This book, which brings the perspectives of leading researchers from Europe, the U.S., and Australasia, provides the reader with a detailed account of the evidence for and against the nutritional programming of human disease, and considers the biological basis of programming. The book addresses a topic of great current interest and consists of three sections: programming the fetus; programming human disease; and the biological basis of nutritional programming.
