The debut self-titled album from the Allman Brothers Band came out in late 1969, recorded only a few months after the band was formed. These songs were honed on the road, which allowed the Allmans to record and mix the entire record in only two weeks. Among the highlights is the original version of the seminal Whipping Post, which would take on a life of its own following the 20 minute live version on the Fillmore East concert album released two years later. This Deluxe edition includes a second disc of the entire album, remixed and re-released in 1973 under the title "Beginnings".

Well, this actually may be one of the best shows in quite a while. The Allman Brothers Band comes out and absolutely kills this Friday night set. The highlight of the show is a full rendition of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken?" in the middle of an epic Whipping Post jam encore. But really, this entire show was great. You shouldn't still be reading this - you should already be listening to the show.

The Allman Brothers' first album featuring their new lineup change that resulted from the band's 1976 breakup. Seeking to recapture their band's classic sound, the Allman Brothers reunited with producer Tom Dowd for the first time in eight years to record Enlightened Rogues, released in 1979. The strategy paid off: the album returned the Allmans to the top 10 and even yielded a top 30 hit, Crazy Love, the band's most successful single since 1973's Ramblin' Man.

The title of Many Bright Things' third album highlights the nature of the project: a large cast of friends coalescing around guitarist Stan Denski. After a seven-year gap, Denski – better known by now as the compiler for QDK Media's high-profile series of obscure psychedelia, Love, Peace & Poetry – delivers an entertaining disc of spaced-out jams. Many Bright Friends combines the folky side of Jefferson Airplane ("Minor Parade for 18 Strings," the title track, "There Will Be a Slight Delay") and the crudest grooves of the Krautrock school. The album is structured around two main tracks. The first one is "East West," a 21-minute cover of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band's anthem to cross-pollination. Featured in this orgiastic jam are guitarists Denski, Nick Saloman, Daniel Noland, and Al Simones (trading solos); Vess Ruthenberg (bass); Steve Obenreder (drums); and harp player Byrd Birocco, who steals the show. "I Am Not a Collector Potato," the other key track here, is a feature for Jello Biafra, who tells listeners what collecting psychedelic records used to be like (with plenty of reverb in the voice), over a quiet groove improvised by Denski, Larry Demyer (guitar), David "Tufty" Clough (bass), and Lon Paul Elrich (percussion).

The album, appropriately named “Three” is the third studio offering from the Brothers Reed since their debut, “Sick As Folk,” was released in April, 2018. Tracked at multiple locations on the west coast, the record is a full band production with Matthew Kriemelmann (drums) and T.J. Eilers (bass) coming on board to provide the needed punch to make the more soaring tracks come across. For the second time Nancy Martin has been kind enough to provide her cello skills on "Caroline" and T-Poe Varnado lent his hauntingly rich voice to us on "Hoedown In Heaven" and on an original poem for track 11. The Brothers breathe heavy influences of honky-tonk, 90’s grunge, bluegrass, and 70’s rock, into heart-fully crafted folk songs with instrumental elements ranging from hip-hop to reggae and back to rock and country. All in all, there is something for everyone on this album.

One of the greatest albums by this funky Latin combo! The record differs from some of their earlier Prestige albums in that the tracks are longer, more instrumental, and have a hard fuzzy electric groove. The band jams hard in a way that's more like some of the funk combos of the early 70s, than the Latin groups from which they came – and that's no problem by us, because the results are wonderful! Includes two funky numbers written by Sonny Phillips – "The Spokerman" and "Jamilah" – plus a great extended cover of "Cloud Nine".
