This is a great collection of rare and hard to find tunes compiled by Jeffrey Glenn. Hundreds of odds & ends by little known groups, famous singers, and famous singers before they became famous.

Now, I leave the original UK edition. You can initiate a discussion of which one is best version (the first thing that stands out is the clarity, colour and sharpness of the picture on the cover).

An experiment, I posted the MOV edition, now I post this reissue of 1986 to end with the original UK edition.
My idea is to compare these pressings with the same gear and determine the differences in sound (if any).

Blind Faith's lone album is often considered vivid proof as to why superstar collaborations simply don't work, but that is a little unfair – in contrast to, say, Chess Records' various Super Blues releases, which stuck top musicians such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf together in awkward combos that they didn't really want to be part of, the guys in Blind Faith really were trying to work together on a long-term basis, and had an affinity for each other's work; the group just never had the time to evolve properly.

Blind Faith was cursed at its very inception by being billed as a supergroup. This was truly a pity, because for all the classic beauty of its only recording, Blind Faith was a band that never had a legitimate opportunity to come together as a performing ensemble. Hyped to the hilt and rushed into a massive, chaotic tour, the band fell apart after its final American concerts when Eric Clapton packed it in to join Delaney & Bonnie's band. Despite the hurried and mysterious nature of the recording of the album Blind Faith, it produced two classic hits "Can't Find My Way Home" and "Presence of the Lord".

I was apprehensive about buying the Music On Vinyl edition but after listening to it, I have been amazed at the great sound it has. It has great separation & texture of the instruments. Listen to "Sea Of Joy". The bass is strong and robust. The nylon-strings guitar sounds wonderful. Listen to "Can't Find My Way Home".

Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman (1962-1973)  Video

A Collection of 25 Movies | The Criterion Collection
720p Blu-rayRip | MKV | AVC @ 5.06 Mbps, 23.976 fps | 1280 x 546 | 2197 min | 92.77 GB
Audio: Japanese: LPCM (AC-3) Mono @ 640 Kbps, 48.0 KHz | Subtitle: English (2 streams)
Director: Various | Stars: Shintarô Katsu and others | Country: Japan
Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama

The viewer's immediate impression is that Zatoichi is an ordinary man. He wears simple clothes and isn't athletic. He moves slowly because he is blind, which makes it even more difficult to believe that he can defend himself. But those who attack him always die. He is so fast that most of his opponents never see the sword that is hidden in his cane. Some of them can hear it, but it is usually only a few seconds before their bodies collapse. Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman is without a shadow of a doubt Criterion's most ambitious project to date. I don't think that even during the DVD era there were any such special releases (the only one that comes close is the beautiful Ford at Fox box set). Naturally, I urge you to consider adding it to your collections, and by doing so let Criterion know that their efforts are very much appreciated. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
