A concept album celebrating a day in the life of an English Village. This instrumental album, is a sort of 'post-neo-classical' style…it's thematic, melodic and will give you hours of listening pleasure as you gradually become familiar with its multiple layers, colours and tonal textures. No guitars on this, only keyboards. The keyboard sounds are familiar from the backdrops to his usual releases, but the overall feel is orchestral, and not the usual ambient/pop/rock.
Following on from 2011's 'Model Village,' Sonoluxe's Super-Listener Series presents 'Songs Of The Blossom Tree Optimists,' a 15 track, neo-baroque, dream-folk album featuring acoustic guitars, minimalist orchestra and percussion, all topped off with Bill's melodic vocals. The album's lush odes to Spring and the rustic, sensual pleasures of imaginary Summer evenings take the listener down green and leafy paths to secret gardens and shining fountains. A splendid companion piece to 'Model Village' but at the same time something entirely new.
Released October 2012 - Limited Edition of 1,000 CDs. It contains long-form instrumentals, mostly improvised compositions centered around keyboards, treated guitars and electronica. Hard to describe but somewhere between the 'Non Stop Mystery Action' album and some of the live improvs I (Bill Nelson) performed at last year's Leeds College of Music concert. Only 7 tracks but it is over 74 minutes long in total. This release sees a return to Bill's 'nostalgia for the future' home-spun music, which has represented his sound for a number of years now. This is one of two releases put together for the annual Nelsonica get-together recently in York. 'Return To Tomorrow', the other release, is next up.

Esoteric Recordings’ imprint Cocteau Discs are very pleased to announce the re-release of one of the most sought after titles in BILL NELSON’s extensive solo catalogue, the boxed set "NOISE CANDY”. Originally released in 2002 on the Tone Swoon imprint, the set was available for a matter of months before the distributors ceased to exist. Featuring 121 tracks, the set comprised 6 CDs of songs and instrumental music, each CD an album in their own right and entitled variously "Old Man Future Blows the Blues”, "Stargazing With Ranger Bill”, "Sunflower Dairy Product”, "King Frankenstein”, "Console” and "Playtime”.

Esoteric.
At the end of March 2011, Bill Nelson and the Gentlemen Rocketeers, along with one hundred plus guests, populated Studio A at Metropolis, West London, for a dynamite concert reminiscent of the Marquee club in its heyday. A blistering fourteen song set from the band, which covers much of Bill’s career to date, was the result. We’re delighted to present that set here on both CD and DVD, together with an interview with Bill and a sublime four track solo set as DVD extras.
My Secret Studio really isn't a secret, and never has been, unless you count the period of time when problems of life and surroundings seemed to make it impossible for Bill Nelson to actually get anything musical out into the open. His larger commercial connections had evaporated, his own label had been wracked by unethical behavior by his manager, and his life as a whole seemed to be one gigantically complex knot. Rather than letting these problems crushing the inspiration out of him, Nelson was energized by them. He might not have been able to release much of a anything for a while, but this didn't stop him from recording hundreds of new songs and instrumental pieces.

ESOTERIC RECORDINGS imprint Cocteau Discs, the home of BILL NELSON’s catalogue between 1971 and 2001, continues their series of on-going releases with the newly remastered and expanded release of his 1986 album "GETTING THE HOLY GHOST ACROSS”. Released in 1986, the record was Bill’s sole album for the Portrait label, and was a superbly realised work. Previously released on CD as strictly limited edition of 500 copies on Bill’s Sonolux label, the album is hugely sought after on CD by collectors.
This album contains the music he was commissioned to write for artist Rob Ward's "Crimsworth" installation. This comes in the form of two lengthy tracks…
