Belladonna of Sadness is the debut album from Portland, Oregon native Alexandra Savior. Her album is available digitally, and in physical formats of CD and a special RED VINYL LP. The album features 11 blissfully cinematic tracks, steeped in retro vibes and dusted with darkness and sensuality. An artist in every sense of the word, not only does Alexandra write music and perform live, she also paints her own artwork and writes, directs and edits her own music videos. With a voice that channels the ghosts of smoky 50s jazz haunts, lucid and literary lyricism worthy of J.D. Salinger, and wondrous youth-in-revolt abandon, Alexandra will tell you she makes "sassy impolite spaghetti western music."

Alexandra Savior is a newly discovered gem. When I found out about her, I was completely hooked with her new single 'Shades', doing more research about her, found out that she is Alex Turner's new muse. Last summer, a demo of a song called ‘Risk’ started getting played on True Detective’s second series. In the Discogs credits on the True Detective soundtrack, ‘Risk’ lists its composers as Savior and Alex Turner, with the Arctic Monkeys and Last Shadow Puppets man apparently playing drums, keyboards and guitar on the track, as well as engineering it.

”A fully mature artist who dares to take chances, and succeeds with an instinctive feeling that lends credibility to everything she does.” - Boris Rabinowitsch, Politiken (Danish national daily newspaper) Sinne Eeg released Waiting For Dawn - her second album in her own name - in August 2007, four years after the release of her debut CD Sinne Eeg. Waiting For Dawn has stirred up a great deal of enthusiasm, both among critics and the listening public, and 2007 Sinne Eeg recieved a Danish Music Award (vocal jazz album of the year) for this album. ”Not a single track seems superfluous; not one passage in a song seems lacking – which is why the album is so masterful. Immediately accessible, but at the same time so complex that new layers are constantly revealing themselves.”…

A City of Sadness is a 1989 Taiwanese drama film directed by Hou Hsiao-hsien. It tells the story of a family embroiled in the tragic "White Terror" that was wrought on the Taiwanese people by the Kuomintang government (KMT) after their arrival from mainland China in the late 1940s, during which thousands of Taiwanese were rounded up, shot, and/or sent to prison. The film was the first to deal openly with the KMT's authoritarian misdeeds after its 1945 turnover of Taiwan from Japan, and the first to depict the 228 Incident of 1947, in which thousands of people were massacred.
