In addition to his solo piano concerts and the American group he led that featured tenor saxophonist Dewey Redman, Keith Jarrett was also busy in the mid-'70s with his European band, a quartet comprised of Jan Garbarek on tenor and soprano, bassist Palle Danielsson, and drummer Jon Christensen. Due to the popularity of the haunting "My Song," this album is the best known of the Jarrett-Garbarek collaborations and it actually is their most rewarding meeting on record. Jarrett contributed all six compositions and the results are relaxed and introspective yet full of inner tension.

The 1977 classic "FIELDVOLE MUSIC" continued the trend of bizarre titles for Free Reed's LPs - this one taken from the nickname of cartoonist and melodeon maestro TONY HALL. Tony was the accompanist of choice for many 70s folk stars - he was on June Tabor & Maddy Prior's 'Silly Sisters' tour in 1976 - and for this exquisite Free Reed LP, he was joined by Nic Jones & Johnny Moynihan to create possibly the greatest selection of classic melodeon tunes & songs ever recorded. Once again, the production was in the hands of Nic Kinsey, and we include 7 extra tracks from the 1977 sessions. Booklet notes are by the shanty man & historian STAN HUGILL.

The Addrisi Brothers were an American pop duo from Winthrop, Massachusetts. The brothers themselves were Donald "Don" Addrisi (December 14, 1938 – November 13, 1984 (aged 45)) and Richard "Dick" Addrisi (born July 4, 1941 (age 76)). Both Don and Dick played parts in their family's acrobatic group, The Flying Addrisis. In the 1950s, they got in touch with Lenny Bruce about starting a singing career and moved to California. They auditioned for parts on the Mickey Mouse Club, but were rejected. Soon after, however, they signed to Del-Fi Records and recorded several singles. Aside from the modest chart hit "Cherrystone" (1959), these were not successes. Further releases from Imperial Records and Warner Bros. Records fared no better, so the pair began working more as songwriters.
