Wilfred N. Caron, "Antenna Impedance Matching"
English | 1989 | ISBN: 0872592200 | 223 pages | PDF | 47,2 MB

This is an ARRL publication written by Wilfred N. Caron. At first glance it looks like a useful book. However, first glances can be deceiving. The book, which was first published in 1989 and reprinted in 1993 is full of errors.

Sean Riley joins the Tower King crew from Dallas, Texas, to fix a faulty television antenna. Two thousand feet in the air and weighing several tons, the sheer height and magnitude of this fix make it a challenge even for Riley, a rigger by trade. Using almost a mile of line and a larger-than-life winch, the crew first removes the old antenna and carefully lowers it to the ground. Only then can they lift and attach the new one. This fix comes down to strength, guts and teamwork.

Hamic v2.0

Win32 |Size: 1.14MB

The Ham Intelligent Calculator, alsocalled Hamic, is a program designed to simplify a number ofcalculations commonly used by Hams. It is designed for the Ham radiohobbyist, but may be useful to others as well. Hamic has a simple touse, but powerful graphical interface that allows solving simplecircuits such as resistors in series or parallel, or more complexcircuits such as L networks or T networks. As well, other calculationssuch as SWR, reactance, resonant frequency, inductance of an air corecoil, and antenna impedance are supported. One of the more powerfulfeatures of Hamic is to solve for almost any unknown variable in acircuit; Hamic can even solve L networks without having to use Smithcharts. Also, Hamic can easily convert between a number of differentunits. Once you have finished your work, your calculations can be savedto a worksheet and retrieved later. People interested in working withcircuits or antennas should check this program out!
