Raised in New York City, Anastacia came from an entertainment-oriented family: her father was a singer; her mother an actress in musical theater on Broadway. Despite being diagnosed with the chronic intestinal illness Crohn's disease at age 13, she developed a career as a dancer, appearing on Club MTV and in such music videos as Salt-N-Pepa's "Everybody Get Up" and "Twist and Shout." In 1999, she was a finalist on the MTV talent contest show The Cut, which attracted the interest of record labels. She signed to the Daylight custom label of Sony Music's Epic Records and recorded her debut album, Not That Kind, which was released internationally in 2000. 19-track hits set from the glamourous singer with a big voice. Includes 'I'm Outta Love' & 'Left Outside Alone'.

This is an essential album of 2005, of that there can be no doubt. This collection of huge hits is a fitting reminder of what an incredibly successful artist Anastacia has become in her five years atop pop charts all around the world. "Pieces of a Dream" brings together all these much loved hits together onto one album for the first time - and the results are very impressive. From the beginnings of her pop genius with "I'm Outta Love", right up to the biographical perfection of "Left Outside Alone", all of Anastacia's biggest hits - and, thankfully - some of her less well known but awesome all the same singles are here. Also included are some nice new tracks which make the album a must-have for her most dedicated fan.

The early 50s was a heyday for vocal groups, riding the wave of middle-of-the-road popular music in the Tin Pan Alley-dominated years before rock n roll changed pop music for ever. The Ames Brothers were one of the most popular of those groups, making their US chart debut in 1948, and racking up a lengthy string of hits over the next few years, including memorable No. 1s like Rag Mop, Sentimental Me and You, You, You.

Rockets' history starts in Paris (France), in the year 1972, when they were known under the name Crystal. In 1974, they changed their name to Rocket Men (or Rocketters) as five aliens, bald, with grey eyes, silver skin and space suits, recording the single 'Rocket Man' produced by Claude Lemoine, who would become their producer 'til 1983. In 1975, they changed their name in Rockets and recorded a single 'Future woman'. Of course, the star attractions here are the amazing 30 Stereo Debuts that read like a who’s who of 60s pop & rock: “The Loco-Motion,” “Hey! Baby,” “Hey Paula,” “Little Children,” “As Tears Go By” and even two great instrumentals, the sultry sax of “Harlem Nocturne” and the glorious stereo twang and cattle calls of “(Ghost) Riders in the Sky.” But we don’t mean to forget The Honeycombs’ foot-stomper “Have I The Right?” or the thundering drum guitar organ intro from “California Sun.” You’ve just never heard them like this!
