The Remnants is the sequel to After The Event and takes place immediately following that novel. There is the introduction of several new characters as well as following all of the original characters as they splinter off. Again, the world is a horrible place and it is sort of hard to remember that this is almost two years after society collapsed. It feels like it’s been a few days. This book definitely delves deeper into the characters and gives you things from their perspective.

I'm a big fan of post-apocalyptic dystopian futuristic science fiction, but sometimes it is too lofty and erudite to understand or get emotionally attached to. Not this series, which I've been enjoying and of which this third book is a worthy edition. Williams takes an interesting approach with this series in perspective switching between characters for each chapter, a format that adds interest and different perceptions of what's happening.

After the Event Book 1 was a good beginning in a series. I was a little on the fence about reading it after seeing some negative reviews but after reading Book 1, I think the reader failed to see the depth of the characters or the efforts of the author to create believable characters warts and all. Being a first in the series, it made me want to read the next book, so well done, T.A. Williams.

Wise After the Event is the second solo album from former Genesis guitarist Anthony Phillips. It was released in 1978 by Passport Records. It marks the only time Phillips sang lead vocals on an entire album. As originally planned, Wise After the Event was to be an album and an accompanying EP. At some point subsequent to the commissioning of the artwork for the record jacket, the material was pared down to just enough for an album. Discrepancies between Peter Cross' original artwork and the actual running order of the album were corrected when it was re-released in 1990. Two tracks cut from the album came out on a contemporaneous single. "Squirrel" and the brief "Sitars and Nebulous" were coupled on the B-side of the May, 1978, "We're All As We Lie" single. "Squirrel" was later reunited with the album as a bonus track on the 1990 CD reissue. more..

Anthony PHILLIPS was one of the original founding members of GENESIS featuring Peter GABRIEL, Tony BANKS, and Michael RUTHERFORD. Following 'Trespass', GENESIS' second album, PHILLIPS left (purportedly due to stage fright) and was replaced by Steve HACKETT. Nothing was heard again from Anthony until 1977, when he favored us with his first solo, 'The Geese and the Ghost', although PHILLIPS wasn't the first member of the band to release a solo album (that honor goes to Steve HACKETT, by releasing 'Voyage of the Acolyte', in 1975). A more commercial audience was courted on 'Wise After The Event' and 'Sides', to no avail, and PHILLIPS spent much of his time releasing instrumental pieces (both old and new) under the 'Private Parts & Pieces' series.

During the 60's Japan's major production companies were in the midst of financial struggles. Audiences were slight, money was being lost and only several independent companies were profiting. The films in question were exploitation ones, those that dealt with the ever popular issue of sex. In 1971, Nikkatsu came up with a new strategy and decided to venture into the world of sexploitation, after seeing how popular the "Pinku Eiga" genre had become. In the same year, powerhouse studio Toei had started their "Pinky Violence" series of films with the likes of Sukeban Blues. Nikkatsu took a different route and began their Roman Porno (Romantic Pornography) series. These were films made on the cheap, in shoots of mere days, the output was phenomenal and as a result Nikkatsu became the number one distributor in Japan.
