Are You My Neighbor? is the third episode of the VeggieTales animated series. It was released in 1995. Subtitled "A Lesson in Loving Your Neighbor", it features two short stories that teach viewers that they should love people even if they seem different or strange to them. The first story, based on the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, features two cities called Flibber-O-Loo and Jibberty-Lot whose citizens despise each other because of their differing head gear. The second is a parody of Star Trek is which the crew must repair their starship before it is struck by a meteor made entirely of popcorn.

Recorded live at the Montreux Jazz Festival with a stellar backing band including bassist Richard Davis, keyboardist Neal Creque, and drummer Bernard Purdie, "Are You Ready?" further expands the cosmic jazz-funk horizons established by Harold Alexander's seminal Sunshine Man. Comprising three epic performances, including a lively rendition of the stalwart "Watermelon Man" and the side-long funk jam "Quick City Revisited," the album burns like a slow fuse– Alexander doesn't create grooves so much as he inhabits them, exploring their nooks and crannies to embrace the full scope of their inherent possibilities.

On the Who's final album with Keith Moon, their trademark honest power started to get diluted by fatigue and a sense that the group's collective vision was beginning to fade. As instrumentalists, their skills were intact. More problematic was the erratic quality of the material, which seemed torn between blustery attempts at contemporary relevance ("Sister Disco," "New Song," "Music Must Change") and bittersweet insecurity ("Love Is Coming Down"). Most problematic of all were the arrangements, heavy on the symphonic synthesizers and strings, which make the record sound cluttered and overanxious…
If You're Not Free at Work, Where Are You Free: Literature and Social Change (Essential Essays)

If You're Not Free at Work, Where Are You Free: Literature and Social Change (Essential Essays) by Tom Wayman
English | April 1st, 2018 | ISBN: 1771832878 | 250 Pages | EPUB | 0.98 MB

The essays in If You're Not Free At Work, Where Are You Free: Literature and Social Change focus on the interconnection of community/workplace/individual and how literature has a role in social struggles aimed at making that nexus more liberatory. Certain essays develop some of Wayman's earlier ideas concerning the potential of imaginative writing that takes daily work as its central theme. The range of topics includes various social issues in contemporary writing–narrative, love poems, the teaching (and hence status) of poetry, and postmodernism.
