This album was missed by nearly everyone. Released in 1990 it was Petra's phenomenal keyboardist's one and only solo venture. Although it does have Petra influences it has a sound all it's own due to the fact that Lawry uses practically all keyboards for the whole album.

Ultimate & most wanted japanese rare groove recorded by the saxophonist Jiro Inagaki, one of the main actor of the Japanese Jazz Rock & Progressive scene. In 1963, Jiro Inagaki was recruited by Helen Merrill for her first album recorded in Japan, "In Tokyo" with the Takeshi Inomata's West Liners group, and later formed various jazz band as the All-Stars, The (Black) Rhythm Machine or, of course, The Soul Media. Recorded in 1969 and released under the famous Takt Jazz Series from Nippon Columbia, Head Rock includes psychedelic guitar effects, great drum breaks, acid & electronic organ sounds, performed by The Soul Media, featuring some future japanese jazz great names, such as Ryo Kawasaki (in his first professional appearance), Yasuo Arakawa, Masaru Imada or Tetsuo Fushimi. Titles includes cover & original songs from Hal Galper (The Vamp), and Willie Dixon (an amazing version of Spoonful), five composed by Ryo Kawasaki (Twenty One), Masaru Imada (High Jack), Yasuo Arakawa (The Ground For Peace) and Jiro (Head Rock). All tracks arranged by Jiro Inagaki.

Classical / Renaissance / Choral

The music of Flemish composer Nicolas Gombert (accent it like "Dilbert"), active in the first generation after Josquin in the 1530s and 1540s, has remained almost completely untouched by the growth in audience enthusiasm for Renaissance music in recent years. Is this because, according to one of those music-historical sidelights reproduced in the notes here, Gombert was once fired from a job for committing "gross indecency" with a choirboy? More likely it's the relatively unchanging texture of his unaccompanied choral music; although it is far from inexpressive, it is quite dense. His language is derived from that of his mentor Josquin, but there are no high-relief points of imitation to grab onto, no moments of lucidity. It's sort of a Renaissance wall of sound, dark-colored, but with flashes of intense red and blue.

Rock / Heavy Metal / Progressive Metal

When Queensrÿche issued their self-titled 2013 album they were engaged in a nasty legal battle with fired founding vocalist Geoff Tate over the brand. He lost, leaving the title free and clear. It was their first with new singer Todd La Torre. Queensrÿche were so intent on reestablishing their brand trademark, he ended up sounding too much like Tate. The hastily assembled collection also lacked their usual songwriting precision. Condition Hüman offers fans the opportunity to re-evaluate Queensrÿche on their own terms. With producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, this band is keen on reestablishing its identity as a prog metal unit with the accent on "metal." Queensrÿche toured together enough to offer proof of their now cemented relationship on the set's two pre-release singles, "Arrow of Time" and "Guardian." Both offer hard edges. The former contains classic (à la Iron Maiden) metal riffing and spiraling dual leads from guitarists Michael Wilton and Parker Lundgren.

This early solo effort (made available on CD by Messidor) by trumpeter Arturo Sandoval was recorded in Madrid, Spain a few years before his defection from Cuba. Sandoval really lets loose on the six selections (five originals plus "A Night in Tunisia"), showing off his tremendous technique and his ability to play rapid lines. The high-powered music (which also features pianist Hilario Duran and guitarist Jorge Chicoy) may turn some listeners off due to its ferocity and lack of space, but one cannot help but be impressed by Sandoval's talents.
