In volume 5 of Quick Start to Modeling in 3ds Max, we'll begin reinforcing all of the concepts, tools and techniques from the previous levels and create a complete character. We'll also cover how to begin blocking in specific details of our model by creating some advanced control loops that will be crucial for proper deformation of an animated character. We'll cover how to break down the large task of modeling a character's body, head, hair and accessories. At the conclusion of this volume we'll have a finished character model that can be used in a narrative scene. These courses are designed to be taken in sequence so we really encourage you to start with Volumes 1 through 4 before continuing with this section. We also encourage you to take advantage of the assignments that follow each volume. These assignments will allow you to take what you've learned and apply those tools and techniques to your own projects.

In Volume 4 of the Quick Start to Modeling in 3ds Max, we'll build on the concepts covered in the previous volumes. We'll begin reinforcing all of the concepts, tools and techniques from the previous levels and begin blocking in the major forms of our model. We'll also cover how to begin blocking in specific details of our model by creating some advanced control loops that will be crucial for hard surface modeling. We'll cover more of the Graphite Modeling tools that will really allow us to focus on a speedy workflow that works best for us. At the conclusion of this volume we'll have a finished, highly detailed model that can be used in a narrative scene. These courses are designed to be taken in sequence so we really encourage you to start with Volumes 1 through 3 before continuing with this section. We also encourage you to take advantage of the assignments that follow each volume.

In Volume 3 of the Quick Start to Modeling in 3ds Max, we'll build on the concepts covered in volumes 1 and 2. We'll start by talking about numerous tools and techniques needed to create high poly models in 3ds Max. We'll reinforce what we've already learned by blocking out the forms of our model and discuss how to use the TurboSmooth modifier effectively. In addition, we'll learn about the Graphite Modeling tools which will give us some new ways to speed up our workflow. Finally, we'll learn how to retain the volume of our model by using control loops and how to create simple details using floating geometry. In the end we'll add another prop that will be used in our final narrative scene.

In Volume 2 of the Quick Start to Modeling in 3ds Max, we'll build on the concepts covered in volume 1. We'll start by talking about polygon modeling, also known as, edge modeling techniques. We'll discuss how using this technique will allow us to have more control over the topology and how to get the exact details we want out of our models. We'll also cover techniques that will allow us to begin saving time in our modeling. We'll find that modeling using this technique can propose some challenges when trying to modeling using quads exclusively and we'll learn many methods for overcoming those challenges. In the end we'll have another prop to add to our narrative scene.
