IQ's last studio album 'Frequency' was a corker in no small measure thanks to the dynamic and powerfull drumming of Andy Edwards. However he left and original drummer Paul Cook returned.'Cookie' had retired from music to concentrate on his farm in Scotland so I presume he must have missed his old mates and answered the call to fill the drum stool.

Gollbetty (ゴルベティー) were a seven-piece Japanese ska band with strong pop and punk influences. They formed in 2004 in Nagoya. Released four albums, an EP, and numerous singles, the band broke up after the completion of their Final Tour in 2010, issuing the retrospective CD, "Gollbetty Best".

Los Angeles’ notorious, multi-platinum-selling rock band, Buckcherry, has released their newest album, Rock 'N' Roll. On their seventh full-length album, Buckcherry staunchly uphold the commandments of rock music with an arsenal of new anthems primed to explode on impact and teeming with riotous energy, sexy swagger, and primal chops intact. It's something that the boys have done since day one, but it's more necessary now than ever.

With their constant Madstocks and concerts, Madness never went away, but their 2009 album The Liberty of Norton Folgate – their first album original material in ten years – felt like a full-fledged comeback, a return to the brilliant form of 1982's The Rise & Fall, the album that firmly positioned the band in the grand tradition of British pop. Oui, Oui, Si, Si, Ja, Ja, Da, Da, the 2012 sequel to Liberty, proves the 2010 comeback was no fluke, with its equally clever and confident collection of savvy pop and ska, tunes that are effervescently melodic, lyrically nimble, and giddy with their dexterity…

If you already own the long out of print Greatest Hits set, then there's no real reason to invest in Sound of the Jam, which, predictably, repeats the majority of that program. However, for latecomers this provides an excellent overview of the output of one of Britain's most distinctive and influential new wave bands. The album's 20 tracks proceed in chronological order, documenting the Jam's progression from sharp, aggressive mod-influenced rock ("Modern World," "In the City") to explicitly Motown-influenced post-punk R&B ("Town Called Malice"), with frequent forays into surreal balladeering ("Butterfly Collector") and ambiguous love songs ("English Rose").

Even in an age that is positively swamped by reunions, the revitalization of Roxy Music was never going to be just another bunch of old guys chasing the golden goose one more time. There was, after all, always a sense that the band still had a lot of old business to see to. Nobody could claim to have been satisfied by the ragged ending of the original group, and the 18 years that separated Avalon from news of the re-formation scarcely overflowed with new acts to compete with Roxy's ghosts – and that includes the bandmembers' own subsequent projects. Nevertheless, it was impossible to predict just how dynamic the show would turn out to be, just how effortless their re-creation of past glories would emerge, and just how exhilarating it would be to see Bryan Ferry, Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera, and Paul Thompson sharing a stage once again.

2014 should have been a grand celebration of Walter Trout’s 25th year as a solo artist. Instead Walter Trout has come down with a liver disease that has caused him to spend his time in the hospital waiting for a liver transplant instead of celebrating. Recorded over the last year, The Blues Came Callin’ is a collection of 12 songs that collects Walter’s thoughts about mortality and life.

"With a discography that includes a classic debut album (1984's Welcome to the Pleasuredome), a misguided sophomore effort (1986's Liverpool), and very few B-sides but plenty (like tons) of remixes, compiling Frankie Goes to Hollywood in a one-disc set is easy if you don't over-think it. Knocking the new wave circus act's career with ease, Frankie Said certainly avoids just that. The rarities it offers are on the edge of even a rabid fan's interest ("Born to Run" "live" on the Tube is just the studio version but louder, and that Anne Dudley mix of "Two Tribes" is nothing but the piano intro, now isolated), plus all the hits…" – allmusicguide.com
