This is a recording of the complete sets performed in the Field of Avalon at Glastonbury Festival in 1995 and 2015.
1995: fresh from finishing and releasing his magnum opus, 'Last Train to Lhasa', Toby Marks, aka Banco de Gaia, rolled down to Glastonbury Festival to play on the Avalon Stage in the Field of Avalon. The year was one of the first times dance music had been given significant space at the festival, and Toby’s set was much anticipated, with the marquee completely full by the time he came on stage. The set featured many of his most familiar songs, often given radically new arrangements, turning some previously un-danceable tracks into driving club tunes…
The twenty sonatas on this recording show Handel writing for the professional musicians of his London opera orchestra; they demand considerable skill and stamina both from the soloist and the continuo. Prominent bass parts give the sonatas a contrapuntal strength and vitality, and Handel keeps the elements of display and purely musical argument in admirable balance in these works. For this reason, they are among the most attractive Baroque solo sonatas and deserve their lasting popularity.
AMAROK's style is quite different from the current Spanish Progressive rock movement, thanks to their tone. Led by multi-instrumentalist Robert SANTAMARIA, this mainly acoustic band uses a variety of instruments, like the guitar, oboe, violin, piano, didgeridoo, tabla, saxophone, organ, drums and percussions. Mireia SISQUELLA's clear voice creates soundscapes recognizable for their simplicity and quietness, making her the counterpart of Portuguese singer Teresa SALGUEIRO (MADREDEUS). Some keyboards rhythm sequences are the basis for the superb melodies pictured by the vocals, in a peaceful atmosphere between ENYA's acoustic new-age, L'ENSEMBLE RAYE's minimalist chamber rock and IN THE LABYRINTH's ethnic musics (Apart from the Indian references).
The brand new masterpiece of German epic metal pioneers EQUILIBRIUM, "Armageddon", is out now! Guitarist, composer and lyricist René Berthiaume spent almost two years working on this new opus called "Armageddon". The result is rather dark, yet remains the bombast and folk elements of the previous records. The Limited Edition Digipak includes a bonus CD with the instrumental version of the whole album.
“Into The Legend” – a title for an album to expect something huge and also fitting perfectly to RHAPSODY OF FIRE.
